How many people outside of Colorado are impressed with Avery's sour barrel program?

I like their regular lineup + Uncle Jacob's. . . but I dunno thus far otherwise.

Avery Brewing’s Barrel Aged Series will soon find a new member – Odio Equum. Number 13 in the series, Odio Equum sour ale is brewed with raspberries and aged in wine barrels. Odio Equum translates to “Despite the horse”, perhaps a backhanded reference to “horse blanket” flavors that brettanomyces yeast can give to beer.
Such a strong and ugly word, but unfortunately true. Our vintner friend just doesn’t appreciate the depth and character of the aromas and flavors that Brettanomyces creates like we do. Like you do. But hte dude has some seriously fine Cabernet Sauvignon barrels that he shared with us to help create this wonderous sour ale. Our lucky #13 in this series. Aged for 12 months in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels

I can't get past the Ethyl Acetate in some of the sours but overall there beers are pretty damn solid.

I too have a problem with the ethyl assetaste in the sours. But overall, agreed, their beers are not just solid, but put them in a position with O'Dell's to be my favorite CO breweries.

    Oud Floris was awesome!

UJ & Rumpkin speak for themselves. Great beers all-around!

I don't know how much distribution these brews get outside of colorado. Yeah, I'm guilty for being a homer, but I think avery is putting out some of the best barrel aged beers in colorado on a consistant basis.

The only one I've had was Immitis, and it was just too much for me. If there was EtOAc in there, I couldn't taste it. I personally am sensitive as hell to that taste/smell (too many years using it in a lab), so I guess I'm glad I didn't get any oud floris.

I liked Uncle Jacob's, Muscat d'Amour and Oud Floris quite a bit...need to find some more of the last 2.

I'll be ISO since the release is scheduled to be on a Sunday (I work EVERY Sunday). Hopefully I can get the Mrs or a friend to be a mule for me.

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but what is the case count on this and rumpkin this year? Figure rumpkin wil see distro, but really hoping the Odio Equum does too. Out of town for both releases...

I thought they said both would be over 400 cases and limited distro for each.
