Odd side summer fest!

When you say "plenty of beer..." can you quantify that @joshflashgordon? I'd hate to drive 1.5 hours, wait in line for Odd Side beers and get shut out again...

 

Any info on this available outside of FB for those of us that don't partake in that? Or, can someone paste that information here?

 

Join us for an afternoon and evening of funky beer, people and music! Local food trucks will be on sight as well as a 150 headset silent disco featuring three DJ'S. We will have four different bands playing throughout the event which will conclude with the Mainstays (featuring members of the band Funktion). The entire festival will be happening on the Grand River right in the heart of Downtown Grand Haven. Please note: price of ticket includes entry to the festival only and does not include drink tickets. Drink tickets will be available on sight for purchase.

I don't get it. $20 to get entry into a "party" where you have the opportunity to buy beer and buy food? What am I missing?

 

Nothing.

 

Founders does something like this, they call it Foundersfest. I would presume that some value can be placed on the live entertainment aspect. Whether it's $20 worth is up for debate but maybe you'll get the picture.

 

It's called cover. Whether or not you are going for the live entertainment, it is part of the event.

 

Exactly. I'm a bit old. Are cover charges not a thing anymore?

 

At bars and clubs, they can be common. At Breweries, not so much.

 

At brewery events such as this with many bands, I have found it to be common.
