I dunno, but I'm having a hard time understanding why Torpedo is a 16 oz, while SNAP is 12 oz. In my mind it should be the reverse. Apart from the mobility factor, I see no advantage to this new format. With that said, I picked up a 4-pack last night because the freshness date told me so.

He's getting ripped off. Based on the standard wholesale prices in my distributor's book, they have both formats priced so that they are the same per oz. (roughly $.11/oz)

edit: It also sounds like his can was shaken or something just prior to opening. I've bought a couple 4pks since it came in, and the carbonation was just as spot on as you would expect from SN.

I personally hate the new format. I do not buy Daisy Cutter in Chi or Osiris in Indy unless on tap. I much prefer having 6 vessels and not paying more per ounce than a 6 pack of beer. They should save a ton of money filling and selling 4 cans instead of 6, why does this not carry over? Torpedo can be found around 8.49 a 6er on a good day, so I will not pay more than 7.55 on a 4 pack.

I'll take the Tall Boys all day over Bottles. It's only 8oz difference.

Edit: Might have been confusing the 8oz i talk about is 64oz for tall boys and 72 for 6 pack

So he gets the four pack home from the store, pours a glass which foams like crazy, drinks it, reviews it, thinks something may have been up with the can/carbonation, then posts the review anyway?

    Am I getting that right?

4 packs always are more per ounce. It's a marketing ploy. A lot of people are just like "OH, less money!" and buy the 4 pack. As far as cans, I'll never hate on canned craft after having Heady Topper.

Torpedo in the can surprised me - so crisp and fresh - freaking delicious.

More like 10.99 a twelve on sale. No way torpedo 4pk pricing can be justified.

    $10.99 a 12-pack? Okay, now I'm really jealous.

We've set the cost per ounce just about the same for 4-pack cans or 6-pack bottles. I feel once the novelty of the initial release dies down the prices will stabilize as well.As for the quality of the liquid...I can't speak to that, we've experienced the exact opposite in our research and in lots of blind tasting.

As for the question of why 16 ounce cans...well, no reason other than we thought it'd be fun. You know what? It is. I almost never brought home cases of Torpedo bottles (I drink it often enough on draught, but I'm a Pale Ale guy at home) now, I always have at least 12 Torpedo cans on-hand at my house at all times.

    Viva la Pounder!
