    Hi All,
I travel tons for work all over the country, and am ever in search of breweries/brewpubs that also have karaoke.
Can anyone steer me towards a brewery to check out where karaoke is also offered? Thanks!

I doubt that's going to be a popular option within the crowd here.

Best option might be to get your own karaoke machine or get it through your tv provider and then you have full control over beer selection, song selections, and who sings how many times. I used to homebrew and that along with karaoke made for some epic parties!

piecechicago.com has a 'roke night with a band. I guess they didn't pay up some of the licensing for some of the songs. So you might stop in when you are in town and ask a bartender. Grab a beer or two and a pizza while your at it. They're at Damen right off the Blue Line from O'Hare.

I don't know about brew pubs/breweries, but I always thought it would be interesting to see karaoke at a beer fest. My friends and I used to do karaoke Saturday nights at a somewhat redneck bar. You can imagine their utter joy as I belted out Alice Coopers Ballad of Dwight Frye :grinning:

Never heard of one, and would have to avoid at all costs if I did. I think I sing well after a few. Ask my wife and she'll assure you I don't.

Nothing says 'good beer served here' better than a DJ and a karaoke machine.

One evening at a random redneck-ish bar in northern Michigan doing karaoke, I belted out Aenima and Freak on a Leash (though I could never do justice to the scat part...) which to my surprise was actually fairly well received...

Hasn't karaoke taken on some popularity amongst the hipster crowd? No insinuation of hipsterness or offense intended towards the OP, as I would frequent karaoke bars between band gigs just to try out new stuff, just saying that I've seen posts and societal hints that alluded to the hipster movement discovering karaoke as a suitable "camp" thing to do. If that is indeed the case, I could see brewpubs starting to incorporate this. In all honesty, doing karaoke on "x" night could set a brewpub apart from the rest of the pack and gain the tried and true karaoke crowd if offered on otherwise dead nights.

Nice! I tried Aenema once and was banned for the rest of the night due to the multiple curse words. I'm guessing they had never heard it before putting it on their song list...I haven't heard of the whole hipster karaoke craze, but it makes sense. It was something I used to enjoy, but not sure I'd want to go to my favorite brew pub and listen to painful renditions of Paradise by the Dashboard Light and Summer Lovin' right now.

Ya, if I recall correctly the lyrics as displayed were "Luck" as in "Luck these dysfunctional insecure actresses".... God I love Tool...

Haven't heard of a brewery that does this but there's a karaoke bar here called Wanna B's that has a nice selection of craft beers . http://wannabskaraoke.com/ The tasting group I'm in went once and we had a fun time . We wanted to go back but they are open to the public on Sunday afternoons now . Under VA laws to bring in outside beers the place has to be closed or have a separate area for us .

Sometimes I think some people need to remember this is supposed to be fun, and social. I went to a Xmas party a few years ago at a pretty well respected brewery south of Chicago and they had karoake and it was a blast.

I haven't been to a bar with Karaoke in forever. That Aenema is a choice is it utterly mind blowing to me.

Yeah I was surprised as well, but figured I'd give it a go. Man this thread brings back memories. I'd belt out The Doors When the Music's Over or The End on occasion as well.

Thanks for the responses! I am sure karaoke is not for everyone, I just so happen to be a guy that really enjoys singing and damn good beer. If I can find an opportunity to blend those two things together, then I will be a happy camper! Heard good things about Piece in Chi-town, still haven't been there but will have to look into it. Cheers!
