    Buxton Brewery (Derbyshire, England) Double Axe (10%) - A doubled up version of their amazing Axe Edge IPA. Not fresh but it's faded hops have become more well integrated with the malts. Lots of resin, hints of citrus, marmalade, cinnamon and nutmeg, all working around a hefty malt backbone giving off caramel and a biscuity crispness.

    Followed swiftly by dessert... Buxton Brewery The Living End (Bourbon BA - 11%) which is purely immense. Back to the roots of RIS with lots of cocoa, vanilla, just delicate hints of dark fruits, and a good dose of bourbon, without the harsh booze. As it develops you get a bit of dark fruit too as the complexity develops. Pairs well with Jaffa Cakes.

    Otra Vez by Sierra Nevada. This gose is delicious, but I am sad if it is replacing Ruthless Rye. Off topic, why does Hop Slam not taste the same as it used to?
