    I actually thought '14 was worse than '15, mostly because I was prepared for the rain and sludge last year, but wasn't prepared for how cold it got two years ago.

    You really want double the amount of people in line if you cut allotment to 2 each with how long it takes to get everyone thru the line now

    Brought out the table we brought last year to setup for a Super Bowl party earlier this month....

    ...it took about 20 minutes with a hose and scrub brushes to make the table reasonably OK to bring inside to setup.

    IMO last year was by far the worst year. I'll always come prepared with layers in case its cold, but nothing you can do about nonstop rain. I immediately went out and bought waterpoof boots (practically wading boots) the Sunday afterward. Between 2010 and last year, I won't get caught with wet/muddy feet again.

    So you went to an outdoor beer festival while it was pouring rain with non-water proof footwear and expected to leave with dry feet?

    No, I went in what I thought were waterproof boots, which I have used for many outdoor events. Turns out they weren't, at least not for 8+ hours of nonstop rain. So I did some research and bucked up for a serious pair, so it won't happen again.

    I'm not a 24 year old walking around in my Chuck Taylor's like some fool. It wasn't my first rodeo.

    Seriously? I think part of the reason I like FFF is because they collaborate so frequently with metal bands. And the 1 variant pp seems like it would turn the event into a total riot. I like the current system because I got group C tickets and I had, theoretically, an equal chance to get a variant as anyone else who attended.

    A live version of Danger Zone would instantly make this year's DLD the greatest beer event ever.

    Funny thing was seeing people's shoes get stuck in a few inches of mud, around the big tent area, and only their foot come out. I recall a few people then tipping over from lack of balance into mud and basically sinking deeper and deeper into it as they tried to pull themselves out.

    I've never been, but there aren't too many comments on here that make me want to go. I've always heard it's more of a bottle share and good time outside of the whole bottle release, much like CW anniversary parties.

    You're reading the wrong thread for comments singing DLD's praises. There are plenty of past threads with tons of "best time ever!" comments.

    Please note that I'm not DLD's biggest proponent; I think DLD would be a lot more fun if the weather weren't always crappy, but there's no doubt that it's a badass festival. Tons of beers being tapped, good food (for purchase), music all day, people sharing from bottles they've brought, etc. And if you manage to get tickets to purchase DL, it's that much better.

    Bottom line - You don't need to go inside to have a good time.

    If you're a nice person, like bringing fun things to share with others, like drinking beer, and enjoy meeting new people who you will promptly forget you met the next day but remember that they were fun to talk to and hang out with, then DLD is a fantastic time.

    I went once in 2013... seems like we got lucky that year since the weather was perfect. Almost too perfect as most weren't prepared for the heat/sun.

    Honestly, that was enough for me. The guest taps were amazing, people were beyond friendly, and I went with a great group... however, it's just not my thing. I don't like waiting in line all day.... and it was a long day.

    People always say the weather is bad, but 2015 is the only year it was really bad. It was a little chilly and windy a few years, but would only be miserable if you didn't bring a warm jacket. 2009 was the only year I remember rain becoming an issue other than 2015.

    2007 = 70 degrees and sunny
    2008 = 50s sunny and windy
    2009 = 60s, sunny part of the day, rain and a little chilly late in the day
    2010 = mid 60s and cloudy
    2011 = 70s and sunny
    2012 = 50 degrees and cloudy
    2013 = 60s and sunny
    2014 = mid 50s and sunny
    2015 = deluge of rain all freaking day
