I was next to a big share. They just kept opening bottle after bottle. I think I'd be dead.

Hey - let's go to a brewery with awesome beer and get really drunk in line before hand so we don't enjoy it!

Sad to see that "culture" has finally hit Seattle.

I took this picture just before noon from a nearby overpass. People were continuing to lengthen the queue.

I opted to keep riding to the Ballard beer grotto, not wanting to spend $16 for 500mL of beer or, at the bar, drink 13% Imperial stout at noon.

Especially before we go drink 13% stout!

People cleaned up and no one made a fool of themselves from what I saw, but I bet we see more rules next time.

So extremely glad I didn't bother with this. I absolutely love Holy Mountain and their staff. But I guess I hate lines and this part of the craft beer scene more than I love Holy Mountain. Thank you so much for taking this picture. I was curious about what it looked like.

It was a big line. I felt bad for people who got there later than I did. Holy Mountain did a good job with setting up roped queues, and nothing every got crazy. They also limited the number of people in the taproom at any time so it wasn't packed like the anniversary weekend.

Bottles sold out around 2pm, sounds like it's still on tap.

For people who CHOSE to stand in a huge line to buy a beer?

Yeah, I can have empathy for some people who I don't think knew what they were getting themselves into based on their facial expressions.

I was a bit disappointed in some of the blatant line bloat that occurred (shameless at times) and am always surprised people drink some of the awesome beers I saw getting passed around in line while waiting to get into a brewery that is releasing an awesome beer and has many other stellar beers on tap. That said, for someone who hates lines and large groups of people, I think it went OK. I enjoyed the beer and Holy Mountain deserves the hype, good for them. I'm looking forward to sharing my bottles with local friends who couldn't physically be there today, when I can't be there, I know it will come back around the right way.

Well, after studying this image closely, I cannot positively identify any mules. I do, however, see a fair number of jackasses.*

Well, I can make out @distantmantra but I can't see myself. So I agree.

If I'd been foolish enough to go, I'd have done so in disguise. A clown costume probably would've been most apt.

Yeah, I see myself pretty clearly.

Gave my dad his bottle of Midnight Still for his birthday today. He was super happy since my parents had actually stopped at HM before meeting us. His response was "man, the bottles were gone and the keg already blew!" Glad I could help.

That's actually pretty cool, so you get a pass from me at least. You must be the good son.

What's not to get? There was a huge line of people. That line was to buy beer. What did they think they were getting into?

Some people aren't as in tune with the beer scene like we are. Probably weren't expecting 200+. I dunno. [shrug]
