Haven't seen much on BA about this beer. Sebago has put out many decent, but very few excellent, beers. I usually just enjoy hanging out at their tap room and enjoying their solid food. However, I have to say the 2016 Hop Swap is an absolute top notch IPA. Have got to give it the nod as my favorite Maine-brewed single IPA and hope that they will make it a permanent offering.
I also thought this was a solid brew. Enjoyed it. Sounds like they will keep making it but it will change every year. Same recipe but changing the hops. ( hence hop-swap). Looking forward to upcoming variaties. http://sebagobrewing.com/beerprofile/hop-swap/
I totally agree on the barleywine. Great brew, great packaging. Just picked another two up last week.
Why I love visiting Maine, Sebago is an abundant shelf beer up there...that's a world I want to live in.
Be careful. If you say that to loud it will end up in the back with all the other "special" beers. The CT way!
Shhhh. Be very quiet or else you will need the special signal to get it. There is more beer behind the counters than in the coolers now in CT.
A lot of limited release stuff is kept behind the counter and you need to be a 'regular' to get it. SoS, Gbot, KBS, BCBS, etc very few places put these on the shelf. It can be pretty rough
Hey Guys, Thanks for the Kudos. If you haven't had Frye's Leap IPA in a can lately you will also be surprised. Please use our BEER FINDER. FYI on releases. We try and keep it simple. Barleywine was brewed last week and will enter barrels after fermentation and some blending. We will release it in early November. We just released a Single Hop Pale Ale made with Rakau in the pubs. These will definitely be in next years release. More of this year's release will drop in August.
Whistle Punk DIPA was also a great option. Grabbed a pretty fresh 4 pack of 16oz. cans at my grocery store several months back. Great brew!
