What is the beer that keeps escaping you?

    While not the most difficult beer to find, I can't seem to get one of my grubby hands on a bottle of Rum King. I've been the 2nd person to message a trader, had the wrong year of some trade bait, almost fallen victim to a person that ended being banned as a bad trader, and, like a moron, even sent a message to the wrong person when I would have been the first person to offer up the right goods had I not been too stupid to message the right Beer Advocator... Oh, Rum King, why do you tease me so?

    Basically, I feel like Frank (Danny Devito's character if you're unfamiliar with It's Always Sunny) in the Jersey Shore episode when he loses his rum ham.

    Mine is Abricot de Fermier. Can never seem to get it. Same thing, always message the person after someone else or they back out. One day!

    It used to be Founders CBS, but I had a nice dose of it late last year. As of right now the beers that I've been striking out on have been Cantillon Fou Foune and LP Framboise, and Hill Farmstead Beyond Good and Evil. I've never quite had the ammo unfortunately.

    If you ever make it to the Twin Cities, I can't imagine you'd have too much trouble setting up an IP trade.

    I have a conference schedule there... in April of 2017 :slight_frown:. Though we might be there in early summer to see if we can pick up some late season walleye at a friend's cabin.

    Seems crazy but I've really struggled to get my hands on a Mexican Cake... Not even talking a variant, just a regular old MC.

    Same here! It's one of those beers that seems to be at every party but the one I'm attending.

    SR-71, I was able to get 4 when they first dropped but I ended up trading them all without trying it. Now I can't score one for the life of me.

    Huna! Always hope it will be in the rare beer portion of beer festivals but yet to get a chance to sample. Have tried to make friends with FL traders but I never seem to have what they are looking for. Figure one day I will get my chance to try it.

    I wouldn't exactly call that "escaping you". More like "if you love something, set it free. If it comes back it is yours. If not, it was never meant to be."

    Seriously though, why did you trade them all if you wanted to drink it?

    Death & Taxes. Had it while on vacation in SF years ago, haven't been able to trade for it since. The goofy growler laws in CA are partly to blame.
