Finally hit Beer 1,000!!!!

Is the OP serious or just a super troll? Why would others REALLY care if you hit 1000 beers? I dont remember anybody else posting when they hit 1000...do you think you are the first or only one to hit this milestone? Ego much?

As others have pointed out, you don't really seem to get the whole craft beer thing from the way you present yourself in this thread nor with your drastically extreme ratings. Beer is a personal experience for everyone, but by assuming you are the only person experiencing it, you make yourself, and the "island" you are on, look really foolish. Do what you want, but you should understand there is objectivity to the ratings system here on BA, but you seem to be judging/rating purely on obscure subjectivity. As with any statistics, extreme outliers are thrown out and you definitely qualify as an extreme outlier!

If you want to strut around on here and claim that you "get" craft beer...make sure that you truly "get" craft beer by understanding the community, its methods and the quality standards that are used to rate and describe craft beer.

On the bright side, this thread has inspired me to REVIEW more.

 

I'm 52 years years young. I've been drinking beers for 34 of those years and lived in Colorado at the height of the craft beer boom and tried EVERYTHING I could. I would imagine I too might be over 1000 beers but now I feel the need to at least try to recount what I've had...then I too can be a beer god and spread my wisdom.............

Two things that really need to be said here:

1. Regardless of the logic some people are using here as a sarcastic counter to the OP's low ratings, I'm sick and tired of seeing across-the-board 5's on BA. It seems as though people rate any beer they like a 5, and then anything they don't like a 4, across the board, regardless of quality. How is that an accurate reading? To me, a 4 and a 5 are both exceptional beers that are far above and beyond the standards for that style. There aren't enough people giving honest, accurate, reasonable ratings to beers. To complain about low ratings as opposed to high, which this site has increasingly had way too many off, is just the exact opposite of the problem.

However...

2. I agree, if you're going to give consistently low ratings, you need to back it up with a comprehensive review as to why. At first I was shocked to find so many people defending the idea we need higher ratings on a site full of people that are already padding ratings based on the simple fact that they obtained a rare beer, and not on the actual quality of that beer. However the OP's ratings of some good beers are a little ridiculous without providing any kind of substance. And please tell me the professional writer/reviewer thing is just a bad joke.

I had over 400 in 2015. The last 2 years have been good for Kansas. Now well past 2,000. Hope to break 3,000 in 2017.

Wow what a gem of a thread. Guess I am just buzzed enough feel compelled to log in and say that op is sofa king we todd did. For a multitude of reasons.

Oh a for all you people who are getting no likes after commenting on how everyone rates too high.... many BAs look at rating x20 so 4.0 = 80% or B-
3.9= 78% or C+
and 2.5 = 50% or F-

so if you have this POV the OP has overly harsh ratings.

I am all for people enjoying beer in their own unique way but to me this is not
Beer Advocacy.
