also, anyone hear of/see Victory Ranch anywhere near here?
B the looks of it, it was recently on tap in my old stomping grounds, and Eastern PA.

How about south of the city--have seen CBW stuff on at Cains, but not sure where else. Liked the Breakfast IPA, but mane does Cains like charging eight bucks for local stuff--or really anything with an ABV of greater than five. They're like Caliente's little brother.

My expectations are to occasionally see some fun things on tap for sure...

I get more irritated with Cain's pricing than Caliente, since at least Caliente has a decent happy hour.

I'm more irritated because I go to Cains much more frequently (proximity). And with them seemingly becoming second city (to Pipers) for soccer in the area, they probably won't reconsider their price points anytime soon. Honestly, the dollar amounts just seem arbitrary at this point. Used to be that when they got a good get, they'd upcharge, now it seems more indiscriminate and prevalent.

Can't argue with you at all. I too go to Cain's more often also due to proximity, but have decreased the number of visits over the last year.

If it's only drinking, for that neck of the woods, I'll favor Hitchhiker or Korner Pub. But Cains is the only gig for breakfast and beerz, so it remains our default (would be nice if Pamelas put in a few taps and did away with the silly cash only thing). Spoonwood has a good-looking brunch menu, but they start too late--if I don't shovel food into my kids' mouths by 830-900, it's fucking bedlam.

With a couple years on it, gratitude is very possibly my favorite non barrel aged barleywine out there. Definitely at least in the running. That said, the only reason I could justify paying such a premium for it in the past was the incredible packaging. If it's just going to have a standard old boring label now, I probably won't be buying any unless the price drops substantially. Probably pretty ridiculous to say that, but I'd say gratitude used to have the best packaging out there, which really went a long way towards justifying paying barrel aged prices for non barrel aged beer.

I actually agree with this. The packaging was next level. I really enjoyed the old packaging. Though I will still buy a bottle or two

No...well at least I don't think I do. I don't know the area where I live very well :slight_frown: Why? Should I go check it out?

If you (you all? yinz?) are still interested in a bottle share at Spoonwood, here are a few dates to ponder, all Saturdays: March 19, April 2, June 4. Thinking as close to 11:30 AM as possible, to avoid a crowd. But only under these conditions: everyone wears a disguise and I watch through a peephole.

i always expected Spoonwood to have more of a familyfriendly brewery vibe than an adult bookstore basement booth vibe.
Either way, I'm eager for a share but April 2 the inlawds are intown for me.

This vibrant BA community seems like it is going to die because of the overzealous moderation. Cheers to all contributors and lurkers that have followed these two great threads. I wish the Bros would realize when they have a great thing and embrace it rather than destroy it. Cheers to Pittsburgh's beer scene which is growing leaps and bounds.
