I came across this last night, so I figured I would post it up.

I have been playing with different screen print ink colors and reactivity to blacklight for a project I am working on. So of course I am shining it on random things in the basement for fun (no giant blood stains going up the walls or chalk outlines so far). I was pulling a few bottles for a tasting and figured I would check out the labels.

So, this is Victory Sour Monkey, which has a pretty funky label on it's own. Metallic purple background and neon green text. Hit it with the blacklight. BAM. Illustration comes up a lot more clear (it is sort of visible on the label) and then to the back, you can't see that message at all in normal light.

Just a fun surprise I figured I would share with you guys.

I don't have time to try this experiment myself, but my assumptions:

    Lagunitas: "Smoke Weed Everyday"
Ballast Point: "We can't believe you paid $17.99 for this 6 pack!"
    DFH: "Keep Rehoboth Beach Weird"
    3F: "Hail Satan"
    Hoof Hearted: "We Did"

I believe the last snow label actually has 2 hidden dicks in it. Look to the left of the car at the "bush" looking thing

I haven't found them in any other FB labels yet. Do you know of any more?

I need to grab a black light. I think the bulbs I have don't work, because I tried this on my bottle to no avail. One of the reps told me about it when I mentioned that I still had a bottle a while ago.

I got a CFL style from home depot for $5. Our store as a little display of colored bulbs and they had a CFL in, it looked rather dim, so i put in a regular black light bulb next to it, it also looked dim, plus that one got dangerously hot in seconds. I put it in my caged portable work light so i was walking all over with it.

it was kind of amazing what glows and what doesn't as i expected the sour monkey green text to be super bright, but it wasn't.

I am doing a poster design right now that is going to have a "hidden" glow layer, so i was testing white vs silver ink for the non glow, trying to figure out which one would hide the best once the blacklight was on. hot tip, neither really glow at all.

The word "TROEGS" is hidden in the water on the old label for their Dead Reckoning Porter:

That's pretty neat - and given the name of the beer, as well as the styling of the word in the water on this label - harkens back or pays homage to the cover art on the Grateful Dead's old "Aoxomoxoa" album....

Now I know why some beer is so expensive. Man hours spent and paid for working genitalia to the artwork. Of course I kid. :stuck_out_tongue:. Cool thread.
