some random thoughts I have on Aslin

-The carb issue with Neutrino was pretty infuriating. Especially for what they were charging.
-Delusions of Grandeur was really bad. Hilarious how it was getting high scores on here and untappd.
-Their IPAs are so good, it's worth the trek from DC, at least for me right now. A Small Town in Ontario is my favorite so far. Honestly, I was making the drive up to Philly for Tired Hands occasionally, but I think Aslin's IPAs are a little better. So I'll support them instead.
-They serve their IPAs way too cold. They are much better when I take a growler home and let it warm up to around 45-50 degrees. Orange Starfish was incredible last night (no photoshop or filters):

If you're serving all your beers from one keg box (as 99.9% of bars/breweries do), it's going to be 38 degrees. Frustrating, sure, but not a criticism that is fair to Aslin.

I don't know the DC growler laws. Can they fill other growlers?

They will fill anyone's growlers, yes. I think DC and VA are both open on that policy, MD I think is a little more strict (at least in Montgomery Co.).

Just made it to Aslin last week. Really impressed with their IPA's. Great to have another solid brewer in the area

Good for them! Both locations are on my shortlist of spots to get a beer in DC. I'm gonna be drinking a ton of Diamonds Fur Coat Champagne this summer.

this shocks me. really liked DoG and also think it's a perfect candidate for bourbon barrel aging

I agree with the person who said it was sweeter than Coke. One sip was enough for me. Not what i want from a beer.

I haven't had anything from Aslin yet, that I felt was trade worthy. More importantly, if I end up with a great brewery near me step one is to throw said brewery's beers into trades to spread the word. For me, step one isn't let me see what I can get for these beers.
