We see plenty of those threads about overhyped beers. But I was wondering, what brews do you think are worth the hype/praise? From hype that PBR has to Two Hearted to KBS and Cable Car.

Bell's Two Hearted honestly was worth the hype. I kept hearing about it and thought it would be a total letdown until my girlfriend bought me a 6-pack when she was in Chicago.

    That's good shit.

On the other side of the coin, I believe that Bell's Hopslam was completely NOT worth the hype. And yes, it was fresh . But that's another thread. :grinning:

I'm not sure if the noise around this beer is considered 'hype' or not, but I'd say most Cantillon in general. That is, Lou Pepe Kriek for example is something really special. (Moreso than Fou'Foune as it's actually semi-accessible in comparison)

Cantillon anything, Heady Topper, KBS off the top of my head.

Drie Fonteinen has yet to let me down.

For American stuff, Heady Topper and Marshal Zhukov were both worth the effort.

Heady Topper, which is pretty amazing given just how much gall-darn hype there is around it.

Alpine Beers - specifically Nelson, Duet, and Bad Boy - certainly all lived up to the hype in my book...

Hill Farmstead. Lawson's Finest. Heady Topper. Pretty much, the state of Vermont is worth the hype.

(For non-Vermont brews: Cantillon anything and KBS blow my mind each time I have them)

A beer doesnt necessarily have to be hard to get or rare to be hyped IMO. Having said that, Beers worth the hype:

    Pliny the Elder
    FBS
    Celebration
    Lagunitas Sucks
