Thread to discuss new Tree House Location.

Made so that the beer thread does not get too crammed with info and discussion.

Looks like much bigger space but only slightly more production. Am I reading that wrong? Going from 30 bbl to 50 bbl.

Yeah that's a little under twice their current production, but they are leaving the old space open to brew other more experimental beer so in reality they are going from 30bbl to 80bbl.

The biggest fermenters they currently have are 60bbl, in the blog they say that they plan on having 240 bbl fermenters. 30bbl brewhouse, or 50bbl brewhouse is referencing the size of the batches. It seems like most craft brewers never want to go to big on batch size in order to maintain quality control. Another comparison, at the rate treehouse is operating now, i believe they are around 10,000 bbls per year. The "theoretical maximum" for the new brewery is 125,000 bbls per year according to the blog.

I work in the wood pellet industry where capacities are much more straightforward ;-)

I honestly got slightly teary-eyed reading that. Because it couldn't happen to a nicer group of people. They deserve all the success not only for their great beer, but because they stuck to their ideals and principles throughout their growth and they have unparalleled customer service. Not many breweries - or any business - can sustain that fast-paced growth and still work every day with a smile and be so pleasant and nice. And Nate ended the blog post with a thank you to customers. Class.

Imagine all the planning that had to go into this - so much time - yet they still churned and churned and offered increasing selections each week, without a blip.

Congrats Treehouse. Well deserved. You should be an example to others.

Can I be the first to say the beer isn't as good from the new place? That taste of rarity is missing.

@richholschuh I noticed the blog mentioned Austin Design - anything you can comment on?

To put this into perspective, Trillium's Canton location has an annual production maximum of 35,000 bbl, whereas this expansion has maximum output of 125,000 bbl. Roughly 4x as big of an expansion.

Any guesses as to the address? No, I'm not thinking of getting in line already.

It would be nice to see it on taplines in Massachusets and Northern CT. Wouldn't expect too many package store deliveries though I don't think that is a model they want to necessarily get into right away.

Over the past 8 months or so i've really watched Tree House blow up exponentially. It seems that every week they release better and better beer and draw more and more crowds. I've started to wonder what the've been doing with all that money they've been obviously raking in and now i'm glad to see this. I for one hope everything goes as planned and there's not too many slowdowns (looking at you Alchemist). I am also very excited to enjoy a full pour of Julius while sitting outside waiting for my growlers.

you kinda knew with the CEO-esque position they advertised a few months ago that something big was in the works.

I think they are constantly surprised by their success and the quantity of beer they sell from the floor of the brewery. This isn't Nate's first blog post about upcoming growth and expected greater availability, but every time they grow, they still don't outgrow the demand that shows up every Weds-Thurs-Fri-Sat's. That's just a compliment to their beer, their operation, and the people.

Good crew, and good beers, and that's putting it extremely mildly. Congrats.

Great news - glad they are creeping a little closer to me and will have a larger space for the masses and more product to go around

Quick question - did anyone else notice that there is no mention of growler fills at the new location? It says cans, bottles, and full pours. Am I missing something?
