After the Seattle and Portland share threads, why not try something even more exclusive? Am looking to put together a bottle share where the venue is obscure and hard to access as well as the beers. To be held at the Malheur bird sanctuary thingy (I heard it can accommodate groups of bearded men).

    Wish List:
    Steens Mountain *****house Meadows
Ochoco C.W. Schnocker (no batch 2, please)
    Mud Lake Lambic
    COBW IPA(ish) 2015
    ZZWC:HIHVHB
    XLN w/ Vanilla
    ANTLERs
    Cuvee de Bundy

Please, no bottles any of us has tasted before. This must be an exclusive special event only for those who have really stuck their head up the trading scene's ass.

Acceptance to the bottle share is conditional on passing a trade value quiz. Anyone with an avatar referencing FOMO or other anti-"gotta catch 'em all" philosophy is automatically barred from entry.

This is limited to bottles? I have an imperial stout that was limited to 10 leather bota bags, please advise.

Too bad. I've been following Steens on FB throughout this whole ordeal, and have arranged for bottles of the take-over beer they are brewing. Just have to save my whalebirds for the annual Deming Upriver Hootenanny Bottleshare, which regularly features M.

I've got some Kirkland Signature water from 2009. That's pretty rar.

I still have that bottle you gave me. Need to open it for science soon.

I figured you were one of a handful of people who would actually get that one.

I'd love to share some uber.rar walez with local friends, but I have to send all of them to people I've never met who belong to tasting groups in the NE and midwest. I need to take care of them.

Though not a local, perhaps I could get an invite. I have a Obscure American Monk Brewery Hard to Get to in the Mountains ghost batch bottle that was one of 5 bottled and only given to the illegitimate children of those monks who owned up to their sins and thence departed the monastery for good. Can I be counted in?

So, you're the exile monk bastard, or you just trade with one? If the former, no, but if the latter you're in. I can only imagine what you had to trade away to get that bottle, which qualifies you for the share.

On a semi-serious note, Steens actually is bottling a beer, Harney County Strong IPA, as an acknowledgement of the takeover. Cut&Paste from a FB post back on Feb 12:

Steens Mountain Brewing has a brew in the Fermenters right now. It will be called Harney County Strong IPA. It will be the ONLY beer we brew that refers to the militant takeover of Malheur NWR and Harney County. We have another in the works for our LEOs. It is an old English recipe. It does not use hops, only spice. It will be called LEO. They will only be brewed ONCE!

If people are offended by our taking a stand on the ILLEGAL actions of the Bundy militia, the many acts of intimidation directed towards local LEOs, members of the clergy, federal employees and/or their families, and officials elected by the PEOPLE of Harney County feel free to unlike us. We stand with Harney County, we stand with Burns Paiute Tribe, we stand with Law Enforcement and we stand with OUR elected officials!

Real talk. I need one of those bottles. I don't care if it's an old IPA when I'm down there in May but ISO.

Well, I'll let you in on a little secret. Obscure American Monk Brewery's next beer is a singel called Singel Testacle. That should clue you in on what I had to give up in order to get that ghost bottle.

Oh yeah, I'm ISO too. They were talking about T-shirts for this beer, I offered to prepay for a couple to get the ball rolling.

Sharpski and I talked, Red Peak's Britikka is not enough for entry into this bottle share. Gotta throw down Cuvee de Quishnam magnums.

For the brewery, I'd call it more of a home run, actually. I'm having trouble now remember which one it was (it's been a while now and I've gotten used to just one), but it was definitely whichever one hung lower.

I was wondering if Red Peak was going to get a mention here.

Well, I've heard that Henry's attitudes are softening a bit, can still only buy it on-rez though.

This sounds much more enjoyable than the events it's a parody of. I'm in.
