Not ashy or heavy for 10%. More chocolate than anything else but not sweet. No weird oak flavors that I was afraid of:

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good day. Looking like a solid thread crowd tonight. Reviews:

Excellent Berliner. Amazing head retention and dense soapy lacing for the style as well. Aromas and flavors of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, papaya, green apple, pear, and white wine; with some light wheat/crackery malt; herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness; with a touch of vinegar and peppery spice. Light-moderate fruity/acidic tartness and spice on the finish. Medium-high carbonated crisp/dry finish; moderate acidity and light graininess in the mouthfeel. Very flavorful and complex between hops and fruity yeast notes; balanced acidity and not bone dry on the finish. Would love if there was something comparable made stateside; price was a bit much; but I might have it again. Highly impressed. 4.13

This was delicious! Aromas and flavors of big mango/melon juiciness; with hops notes of grapefruit, pineapple, papaya, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine; with some light caramel/toasted bread malt; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind bitterness; with a crisp and sticky/resin mouthfeel with a fair amount of creaminess in balance. Moderate dry; and stays fairly consistent on dryness through the glass against the sweetness. Never astringent. I liked this just a notch better than the base beer. The mango seemed to up the body and overall sweetness a fair amount; providing better bitterness balance. Base beer does get a little too dry and resinous at times, but is still just as flavorful. Will be getting more for sure. 4

My first Rockford beer. I just keep racking up the MI beer reviews so easily. This is #741. This is outstanding! Aromas and flavors of big juicy pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, melon, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon/orange peel, herbal, wood, light pepper, and pine; with some light caramel/toasted bready malt sweetness and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/spicy bitterness; with a very smooth finish; with a balanced sticky/resinous mouthfeel against a fair amount of bready creaminess. A bit above medium bodied; not overly heavy on mouthfeel. Moderate dry and never astringent. This just is all around awesome stuff. All Columbus/Simcoe hops with great balance between both hop characters; with a nice malt backbone that isn't overdone. Minimal warming 10% ABV. 4.25

I needed to see what I was drinking. I did however have some in the can. What a treat!

My favorite FFF brew, so was glad to see this one back at the bottle shop. Just like I remember it, big, boozy, citrusy, piney, and incredibly smooth for a 10+% DIPA.

And watching my Badgers struggle with Nebraska in the B1G tourney. Hopefully they turn it up in the second half. Cheers BAs and let's go Bucky!

It was interesting - I think I was expecting more of the vanilla flavors from the root beer but got more of the licorice/cherry flavors (maybe from the sarsaparilla? don't even know what sarsaparilla is supposed to taste like haha). Bourbon character blended nicely and it drank pretty smooth for a 12%. Not what I expected but pretty solid flavors they had going

Big decision to make tonight. Got offered a position in my company that could possibly be my ticket out of NJ. I've been looking at my future, and I personally don't want to spend the rest of my life in NJ. I'm only 24, and I've been offered a position to control the entire electrical transmission grid in the state. It's a job that only a few hundred in the country do, but at the same time, I'm battling whether or not I'd want to take it. I'm happy doing what I'm doing now, but I'm not sure which is the right choice. Ugh growing up sucks, lol. That's why I come here...I'm able to vent and show you "what beer I'm drinking now" to take the stress of the decision away. Wish me luck, and cheers!
