    Good Friday morning all! I picked up some local VA beers yesterday, and this am I am having my juice first - 'A Hopwork Orange' by Blue Mountain Brewery, Arrington, VA:

    Orange nose and flavor and a lite grassy hop profile. Lite bitter orange zest linger. Very easy drinking at 7%. Cheers from Staunton, VA!

    I've had my juice, now it's time for my coffee - 'Kentucky Christmas Morning', a 10.6% gingerbread stout aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels, then cold filtered thru locally roasted coffee beans, from Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Richmond, VA:

    Chocolate, roast coffee, vanilla and a hint of bourbon. Velvety full mouthfeel and warming. Christmas spices middle with dark fruit and bittersweet chocolate finish. A lot going on here, and nicely balanced!

    I didn't think Friday would ever get here. Working a half day, getting my hair cut, and having some brews. This right here is the best beer being brewed in my hometown. A fantastic black IPA that somehow tastes barrel aged (it's not), but they're working some kind of wizardry over there on this one. Cheers all!
