Agreed, but if you have absolutely nothing on tap at 12:30, you fucked up imho

I went to Huna once, think it was '12, the year before the fake tickets and near riots, and I will say that even then I thought that year was enough of an absolute shit show that I said I would never go back (which I haven't). This new format seemed like a better idea in theory, but sounds like it was butchered again. I do have to say that I am not sure to what extent I can blame CCB. It seems like they are at least trying to improve things. A big part of the problem is the crowd. If no one follows the rules a well planned event can be ruined. Then again I guess it's up to the host to enforce the rules.

Wondering what this 20k bottle dumping is about.

We and many were the people 'waiting till 10'. And the line was over half a mile long by then. Did not pay to play by the rules. At all. Ridiculous. Most I talked to will not be back.

Had a great time. Issue: breweries being done 3 hours prior to event end. How about just putting on at least your regular stuff. Rumored that this was related to a CCB suggestion on total ounces brought. Either way it showed poorly.

A lot of those whale beers tap super quick because the event staff (brewery reps, etc) drink them before the gates open.

Please just stop. I'm embarassed for you.

I got in line right at 10:00. When i saw the length of the line, i admit i was a little pissed that it seemed they didn't strictly enforce the line like they said they would.

But...I was in the gates within 15 mins.

Among the "whalez", I got to try were AB Summation, 2 Scoops, 2 candles, Smooth, Balaton, The Scribe, Mexican Brunch, Coconut ANTEAD, DFPF, Desperado, King Sue, all the MAZURTS, and I'm positive I'm missing some.

Sure, i missed Mornin Delight and fundamental observation. Sure, Derivation Blend 5 kicked like 5 people before me, but i still got to try so many beers I'll likely never have the chance to drink again.

I followed the rules and i got to tick 90% of my top choices. If you didn't get to try multiple whalez and multiple beers that have never and will never be poured at a festival again, then YOU did something wrong.

As far as breweries running out of beer, i'd much rather have them bringing their whales and running out earlier than have them bringing middle of the road stuff. Side project shouldn't have to bring 10x the amount of beer as (insert name of brewer that had no line all day here) just because side project is more popular. Most of Side Project's beers are barrel aged. Any idea how much more expensive if is to produce a barrel aged saison aged on fresh fruit than it is to produce an ipa?

As far as the trade value of Huna goes... You should really take a step back and look at how silly and entitled you sound. They announced the plans for 4 and 8 bottle tickets and the 3500 attendees well in advance of ticket sales. If you can do math (3500*6), you would know there were going to be 20k+ bottles.

You still chose to buy tickets. You don't get to come back and complain now, after the fact.

Also, beyond that, "trade value" should not ever be a brewer's concern IMO. If they have the ability to make more consumers happy by brewing more of the beer then go for it.

Your diatribe is hilarious. Sober up. No I did nothing wrong and like many, got screwed by playing by the rules. It was a poorly planned event. Go back to Pennsylvania. We will be fine without you here.

Very nice summation as to how my day went, and I think the vast majority of those I spoke with would agree wholeheartedly @elvisdoc sorry you had a miserable day, your presence next year will be sorely missed.

    Regards....your FL neighbor.

And seriously, how screwed could you have been. I'm amazed at how quickly they hit Hyatt massive line inside. Tops 20 minutes entire line is my guess.

All the personability is gone. It's a giant whale race of who can get to the rarest fastest. And if you missed it, "whoops, we were told to only bring a kegs worth." Leaving white whalers chomping at the bit to return next year to further extend their beer peen. There wasn't enough food. Spent the majority of my time standing in line in a pile of bark that filled my shoes. The line for entry! The line for bottles! Not to mention we paid $325 to be elbow to elbow.

gotta love a thread full of grown men and women complaining like little children is hilarious. I was there and the event had flaws but instead of coming to a foum and complaining go to ccbs fb page or email them.

Lol at some of this. I played by the rules and showed up 10 which landed me about halfway in he line. Was in the park by 11:15 and and drinking beer by 11:16. If you wanted to wait in the lines for the whales then good for you but I decided to bypass the lines and drink everything in sight instead of waiting. Had a great time and enjoyed the event very much.

Didn't you claim to have loved Brewvival? This was way better, with way more good beer, and way shorter lines other than for the most hyped whales. The one complainer is an idiot that has no clue what he's talking about.

Also AB Zhukov wasn't even tapped until after 1 so he's a straight liar about it already being kicked.

Well color me the oddball here, but I had a great time today. I was waaaay back in line (see my earlier post) but had a beer in hand by 11:20. Cigar City put on a fantastic event, and I got to try a TON of beers I wouldn't normally get the chance to. Hats off to them... Great event. And that Westbrook coconut mex cake was awesome.

I enjoyed the event. The sun + drinking definitely wore me down... So missed the ccb whales.

I did think it odd many breweries kicked really fast. I mean fundamental observation was done what seemed 45 minutes.. I just missed it.

But overall I enjoyed. Had zero issue getting food.

Odd about ccb lines... They had roped off lines but you could ask for any off the truck. So funny to wait in a long line for no reason

Brewvival was amazing. I was just going off of what I heard about Huna Day, don't get mad at me if the guy was lying. But for the record there are a lot more people complaining on other media outlets than just that one guy.
