Triple Threat - NBS BIF #3

Not yet, I'm just too much of a hophead, but the same brewery that makes this style a theoretical part of my salvo also makes an English Old Ale with heather instead of hops, and I wound up quite liking it.

Fwiw, the brewery I mention is quite young, and I haven't been in lately, so maybe their braggot recipes have been tweaked since they've gotten used to their pro system.

I don't dislike it myself but compared to my "younger years" ("Heh! Where's my prunejuice!"), my palate has definitely shifted to a preference for savory over sweet.

I'll second that opinion that is a fantastic beer and a neat packaging concept. And just to fan the fire I'll throw a 2 pack into my LIF box for the best box in this BIF.

Spammy gets tired thinking about how much hiking he'd be doing if he lived the same state as my Target.

 

This could apply to my state, but also to numerous others. Looking forward to Spammy mentioning where in his target's state he'd like to go hiking...

While it would certainly be pleasing to my ego, it's not me. Eliminated when you mentioned your target's state's minimum wage.

What would you consider DFH Midas Touch? It's like a braggot with muscat grape juice added.

 

Man, it's been years since I've had that. Longer than I've known there is such thing as a braggot. Frankly, I can't even remember what I thought of it, which in itself probably indicates it didn't blow me away.
EDIT: Just looked up my review. I gave it a 3.18 in December, 2004, when some in this thread were not legally allowed to drink! I definitely hadn't heard of a braggot being anything other than someone who needed to shut up back then. Might need to revisit it, as it's possible the bottle was past it's prime, and I'm a very different beer drinker nowadays.

 

TO my target, the new refrigerator I purchased sure had a large box. I should be able to get multiple cases of beer in it. I'm not so sure it would hold together though...

 

Do try it again. It's not really meant to be a blow you away kind of beverage, just a really well done blend of the three main ingredients; very much like they were made to go together like that.
