Wondering what brewery you thought I was referring to, though.

I'm spacing on the name right now. They're out in the boonies east of the mountains. Not Rocky Coulee in Odessa, but somewhere like that. Black labels with yellow print, and their logo is oval.

Franklin Pierce! Sometimes regarded as the least effective president ever! Go Granite State!

I thought the name was Great Northern, or Northern Ales, something like that, but neither was listed in Places.

Can't remember Rocky Coulee's logo, just that the last beer I had from them was so godawful it was practically a hate crime. Maybe Northern Ales, they used to be black with yellow lettering, but have changed it up now to something else. They're in Kettle Falls, and will not be included for much the same reasons as Rocky Coulee.

...and perhaps our first alcoholic president (had a friend in college who was a direct descendant, which I suppose means I knew a relative of Dubya's mother).

Yup, Northern Ales is it, the Honey Basil: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16334/38720/ . maybe I didn't like it as much as I are remembering.

Which Rocky Coulee was terrible? You and I gave this one the same score: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/13094/28306/ . I first heard of RC when I read that they made beer for the beer garden at the combine demolition derby in Lind: http://www.lindwa.com/lind'sweekend.html

Northern Ales beers I've tried tend to be all over the map, quality wise, at least in bottled form. The few beers I've managed to have on-tap haven't been bad, and some quite good. In fairness, I should point out the last two beers I had from them were purchased at a place that I think holds onto beer long past their prime.

I'm going to head to Hill Farmstead again this Wednesday. I doubt they would have anything my target would be interested in though.

Yet another "clue" that makes it clearer I am not your target .

Since some beers are already in motion, here's a message for my would-be sender:

Making up hints for our targets are fun, but once something is in motion to me, please drop the subturfuge, disinformation and general obfuscation (I particularly like that word: it's perfect for what it means).
I live in a secure building, and the neighborhood has some rough edges that can take the form of packages being swooped off porches. In order to spare my sender not paying extra to require a signature (prev BIFs I didn't realize some places charged extra for this), I didn't specify this, so I'll need the tracking number to arrange to pick up at whatever shipping Co.'s warehouse.

@JDAWG71 Hint #5 - Jdawgs target lives in a town. The town is located in a county. That county shares a name with the lead character from a series of Thriller/Action novels, that frequently feature aviation.

Interesting. The aviation part is throwing me, though. Depends on how much aviation involvement we're talking about. Dirk Pitt owns a plane or two, but those books are definetly more nautical than aerial in nature. Jack Ryan? Well, he was in a crash at one point, and there's plenty of planes in those stories, though he's not neccessarily behind the wheel (or stick).

We first meet the character as he is flying an A-6 in Viet Nam.

    Hint # I'm not sure

The city where I will be shipping your beer is home to an actor who was born there. He was in a movie that had a character who was from my state's largest city.

Think I might know who this is, but since I'm pretty sure you're not my sender, will await further developments.
