I'll drink some Special Export. It's packaged in a green can. :sunglasses:

Never been big into "regular" Guinness. I have some family who does the "traditional" attempt with Harp, Smitwick's, and
Killians irish red. I dont really mind those too much. Others in the not so traditional sense will take pretty much any light beer and food color it.

I personally have grown fond of the Guinness FES. Locally we have another Foreign Extra Stout that is just stellar. I usually find a Guinness Stout Beef Stew recipe online and replace Guinness with the heartier stouts of the world.

Usually green beer is something like Schlitz or Schaeffer or if you are lucky, Busch. Used to drink it in college for a week after St. Patty's day because it was 25 cent drafts.

Right Brain in Michigan does an Asparagus beer. Not the worst thing I've had by far.

The distro I was at would add green food coloring to kegs themselves. As you would imagine, the off premise guys were none too enthused to do this and become stricken with green stained hands for the rest of the week.

Homebrewclub get together hosted by a member of Irish descent. Gonna be epic. No green beer, though.

My homebrew always looks a little green during the boil from the ridiculous amount of hops I use.... That sort of counts as green beer?

Brew Dogs did an episode with Greg from Stone where they juiced cucumbers for the mash and sparge water...I can't imagine it tasted very good...but who knows?

Yeah, probably. I'll be bulk drinking for hours with friends at a local sports bar until the UK game comes on at 10, and I don't take myself that seriously, so I'm certain a green Busch Light pitcher will make an appearance at some point.

I also have not had a green beer since college. Really do not plan on having one again either.

This will be one of the few years that I don't celebrate St. Patrick's day by drinking stout and listening to the Pogues. I'll probably still listen to the pogues, but since I've been fighting off a lingering cold I think it would be wise to hold off on the drinking.

Green beer has never been a part of my St. Patrick's day celebrations.

And, here I thought this was a discussion of freshly fermented beer. Silly me, I should have checked the calendar.

I have never had a green beer, probably because my family is Irish. I was an alter boy as a kid an Father O'Brien told me once to never go out on New Year's or St. Patrick's Day because it is amateur hour. He added "get a six pack and stay at home". So that's what I do. That was 30 years ago and still some of the best advice I ever received.
