Bruery 2016 RS/HS Allocations

I've been good 2 out of 3 so far. picked up all 3 at the same time.

Assuming they're all the same batch as the last bottle.

Yeah that's the same batch as the sour bottle I had last night. I bought it at a bar so I paid $26.99 for it. If I had known it was going to be a BA sour stout I never would of paid that. Very disappointing.

 

Naaaaaah, not infection again...I have purchased maybe 10% of what I normally would within the last few months and still happened to get some beers that are potentially bad.

 

Opened 4 bottles of SHIT so far... Great beer no infection with my bottles

 

I bought a whole case of that batch. I was going to open a B#2662 today. Now I think I'll try the other one to check.

 

At the tasting room right now with no interest in bt 2012. If someone wants a pour, bug the guy on his phone at the barrels in the middle of the room. Will be here till 5:15 or so

It does have some of the tart aromas similar to a Melange 3, but very subtle. Roasty barrel notes, toffee, oak, vanilla, same flavor from the tasting room and growlers I had. I think the strong oak barrel aromas could make it out to taste/smell a bit different. I don't really taste the infection my Ignus Fatuus clearly had. I'm finishing this bad boy.

 

As someone who travels a ton, you don't really save that much booking way out in advance. You save if it's a crazy weekend (fwib for example), but Orange County isn't that impacted by the party. And even then, book a refundable room in case life gets in the way.

You probably saved $50 or so, but in return you have no flexibility at all. Just doesn't seem worth it.

 

I think what you mean is "Hoarder Member's guests", that's not the same thing as the "general public"

Would we be OK if "Reserve Member Guests" could not get pours of RS beers? That would not be OK with me.

 

taking a break from the bitching for a second, Humulus Rye deserves some love here. Was tasting great last weekend when I had it on tap. And bottles are really affordable. Going to be buying a shitload more

I think it's the best Humulus version they've bottled so far.

On the subject of infected bottles I popped my last Rue D' Floyd tonight. It's still heavenly and they need to do this beer again. I can take or leave Floyd D' Rue but this one is far too good to be just a one time thing.

 

Melange 3 didn't taste tart or sour at all to me, it was sublime nectar. My bottle of Shit tasted like straight up Oude Tart was blended into it.

I mean, maybe it was the Bruery's intention for infected beer. I'm pretty sure they'll explain it in due time. I mean, why should Hoarders be the only ones who get infected beer.

 

Serious question, what are the Hoarders-only events?

I think you realize that I wasn't giving a laundry list, just what I felt are three central perks. Things like the second chance sales aren't consistent for every single release, so they're aren't any expectations. The additional tickets have been around since the inception. I'll make it work, but no one like to tell invited friends that they no longer can attend.

 

To be clear, even I compromised in my post by being OK with one guest per Society member!

And to answer your question, I do believe that "guests"="general public". I really understand why a Hoarder would like the power to have three members of the "general public" become his "guests" and leapfrog my RS perks, but from my perspective that sucks.
