    Happy Saturday!
It's going to be a sunny and cold Saturday. There's the possibility of a Nor'easter Sunday into Monday, which means the supermarket will be packed with people gearing up for the Apocalypse.
I'm starting the day with a tofu scramble with an overripe avocado, and drinking Mastodon Mother Puncher. This is a farmhouse IPA brewed with passion fruit, and it really works well for me.

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday!

Awesome pale ale as always. Flavors of big pineapple, peach, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, melon, passion fruit, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, and pine hop; with some light caramel/toasted bread malt and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Medium sized pine/herbal/spicy bitterness; crisp and moderately dry finish; with a sticky and lightly creamy mouthfeel. Very bright and complex on the hop character, solid sized malt backbone, not overly dry. As usual, Mosaic brings the good stuff. I will definitely keep buying this along with all the other Ballast Point singles I have been consuming lately. So much great beer.

This is an incredible American stout. Huge flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, and smoke/charred malt; with balanced herbal, pine, spicy hops; and some raisin, plum, licorice fruitiness. Good sized pine and roast/charred bitterness; with a creamy and sticky finish; with good dryness from hops and highly roasted character. Glad this is finally available in my county as of last month; we have messed up and varied distribution split up by county here. I love pretty much every single beer I have had from Deschutes so far, especially the year round lineup.

Drinking my last bottle of the 2 I bought, reviewed this 2 years ago. Still tasting awesome! Flavors of big caramel, maple, toffee, molasses, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, leather, and oak; with moderate raisin/plum/fig/date/apricot fruits; orange peel/light pine hops; and touches of bourbon/vanilla near the finish. Light-moderate pine/rind bitterness; with a full bodied creamy/silky and lightly slick finish; pleasantly warming with zero booziness. Extremely complex and well balanced across the board. With the partial barrel aging; the bourbon notes are pretty subtle, but you still get a nice overall oak presence.

    Cheers

I still haven't adjusted to Daylight's Savings. Unfortunately, it's had the reverse affect on me - I keep waking up early and can't get back to sleep. At least on the weekend, I have something to make it all better .

Good morning crew! Up early feeding and playing with the pup. She's been here three weeks and has grown almost two pounds already. They grow up fast, so I'm enjoying every precious puppy moment and trying to capture a few along the way. Have a great Saturday of beer, hoops, and whatever strikes your fancy! A gratuitous puppy photo because the cats seemed to have taken over.

Great reviews as always! I'm happy to hear that Bolt Cutter is holding up well as I have one bottle left. I may have to explore that one soon?

Some people love this beer while others (like the Bros) are less than impressed by it. It goes without question however that the bottle label is an all-time classic and absolutely beautiful.

Troegs' Nugget Nectar that I got in NC yesterday. Well balanced and super tasty tangerine, lemon and pine hop flavors. Frickin' frackin' photobucket ... Sorry no photos. Cheers from Summerville, SC.

Good Saturday morning, BA's. It's going to be a busy day of projects and NCAA's, and I'm starting with this classic. I'd forgotten just how good it is; I particularly like the molasses. I had to use the Samuel Smith pint glass for which Mrs. MacMalt paid all of 50 cents at a Church bazaar. Cheers to all!
