I'm in Alexandria, but I've been watching the TW website for stores from here to Chantilly, and it hasn't arrived anywhere in the area. I know it's come and gone in Richmond and the Hampton Roads area, so I would have though it would have arrived here if it was coming. Guess Stone isn't showing the love to it's second home state.

They fairly recently switched wholesalers in NoVA, to Premium/Reyes, and it seems like they are still figuring out the ordering for the seasonal 22s and 6pks. I highly doubt Stone is "snubbing" VA, more likely the wholesaler is waiting to bring new items in until they are sure they have chain stores set up, to send them into.

Made a trip to Manor Hill Brewery farm today. Had the Hidden Hopyard #1 batch. The brewer said there would be a new version every month. Very tasty, hazy, and a bit fruity, but has the bitterness of an orange or grapefruit peel. I took a growler to go and can't wait to crack it with some friends.

Stone has been in limited supply in DC since switching distro, especially in the last month... That being said both Americano and Pataskala Red IPA will be in DC this upcoming week

Only if you are also mad about the offerings from Stone being limited recently.

If you can shit on Hardywood/DC Brau, comment on Aslin/Ocelot growler policies, and/or write a haiku about West Dupont's latest out of market items, I'll show you the secret handshake next time we're all hanging out by the dumpsters in the Norm's parking lot.

Me too, agreed. Drinking Alien Church from Tired Hands right now. They have a similar profile, but gotta say the Sexy is on another level entirely. And that's not a knock on Alien Church, because it's excellent.

I agree wholeheartedly, and the same could be said for most of the IPAs I've had there. They're all definitely good, but they also all taste the same. This issue is exacerbated when they release several cloudy IPAs a week. I thought to myself yesterday: "are these all just the same recipe with different names on them?", hahaha.

First world problems, but once the initial hype passes and they can expand beyond the juice bomb style, I'd like to see more differentiation in what they put out there. Hands down, though, they have quickly become one of if not the best breweries in the area. Excited for their success.

Yeah I have to agree with that sentiment as well. I think they were both good but it's sort of strange when a DIPA is that close to a normal IPA in all of those characteristics.

I think Aslin and Ocelot both have that issue with their hoppy beers.

And now this thread is about Aslin and Ocelot again.

Agree with what's being said here. But is it an issue?

Nothing wrong with having a "house profile."

I can immediately identify a Lagunitas IPA whether it's Daytime, Sucks, Hop Stoopid, etc.

Especially with neither place really doing flagship beers.

I definitely don't think it's an issue. I was personally expecting a little more differentiation between the two but they were both really good so I'm not complaining. Just an observation.

Last night I drank the growler with friends and as it warmed this beer became even more delicious. Really, really fantastic! I want to get some cans when they release in a week, but I'll be in Mexico. If anyone takes the trip to get cans and there's not limit, I'd certainly pay for a 4 pack.
