I personally enjoy shopping much more at bottle shops that offer singles as opposed to closed packs only. This gives me more freedom to try new beers even if it's $13.99 a 4 pack. fellow BAs what do you prefer?

If its a beer I know I like and will drink, Ill get a 4/6 pack since its (generally) cheaper. If its a beer I don't know that I'll like, I prefer singles. Buying the new Ballast Point beers (mango even keel, pineapple sculpin, watermelon dorado) in singles was the best thing Ive done in a while. Sadly, Chicago doesn't allow singles sales, so I have to get singles when Im traveling.

I buy what I am in the mood for, so saying to myself "i'm only buying bombers, or 4-6ers" doesn't work for me.
    so don't care about format.

I like stores that offer singles, and then if you purchase 6 many will give a 10% reduction on purchase. I Like trying new items and if i like a particular brew i will return to buy a 4 or 6 pack of it.

I like to sample a single beer first before being stuck with the rest of a pack if I don't like it.

I usually buy singles. I'll get an occasional 4 or 6 pack if I loved the beer and its a seasonal thats coming to the end of its run.

I like buying 4/6 packs only in certain situations. I love trying as many beers as possible, and that's expensive and even more difficult if you can only buy 4/6 packs. I wish more places would sell one bottle at a time.

Mix 6 for new stuff, and 6 packs for known entities.

Usually singles as well. There are a few breweries that I purchase sixes of but most of what I buy are singles and bombers.

Most of the stuff I like comes in 4 or 6 packs but I pick up a suitcase occasionally for the grad students who drop by.

Singles, if the date's on the bottle (wink), to try new stuff...onward.

I like having multiple beers around for when I really get in a groove with a beer, but the bottle shops that sell singles will also sell you a sixer, case, whatever... It's also nice to just grab two or three of a new beer, though.

The way the poll is worded as an either/or situation, however, simply has me feeling like I could go either way, so I voted Don't Care.

Singles for most beers, but most mainstream hey bro I'm having a party only come in 6 packs. Its a matter of circumstance. If i am studying or relaxing then a big ol bottle of craft is great. If i am having a party or housesitting and inviting people over then a 16 pack of Tecate will do fine. Or bud light if they are inviting people i don't care for/know real well. Only my close friends get the Tecate :stuck_out_tongue:

Second @TongoRad. If it's a known quantity, fine. I might grab 4, or 6, for that matter. The question is: How many Nelson can I buy?

    Cheers.

If its something new I'd get singles, but if I'm planning on getting in bulk, I'll go with the 6 pack

I enjoy purchasing mixed 6's of singles. Then, when I find something I really like, I buy more.

Rationality seems to be winning out. I'll add to the position of sampling singles and buying bulk of the winners.
