Beer salesman in south/central Indiana. Been in the beer/liquor/wine business for 5 years now with two different companies, plan to retire in the beer business. Only about 50 more years to go lol.

    Cheers!

I manage a 24 hour Cstore which is a nightmare, and work at a nice little bottle shop on the weekends which is a blessing.

But perhaps the real question is: Do you actively like/enjoy what you do for a living, or is it just something you get through? For me, it's about 60/40 just getting through...

It takes some getting used to, After a few weeks you dont feel the cold very often as long as you dress warm and eat big meals while working.

Thats why I do it at the moment. When I'm not laid off the wages are good, I should be going back to 23$ an hour. after 4h of overtime I get double time, 6 sick days a year, 4 weeks of paid vacation, And even on a temp layoff I'm making almost 2 grand a month from ei to sit at home. Its not the best money but I could be way worse off.

It's getting there! There is a nice bar called buddha beer bar. http://www.buddhabeerbar.com. Also, this summer I was biking in the area. It was a hot day, so I stopped at a local restaurant to have a beer at the bar. I tried a local pilsner from Dykman Beer Co. http://dyckmanbeerco.com. I had never heard of it, and the pils hit the spot. I read up on it, and it was started by a local kid.

Well put. It seems like a good many BAers really do enjoy their work, which is wonderful - y'all are quite lucky. I really believe your quality of life overall is dictated by what you do and whether it does/does not move you on some basic level.

Im an attorney and family guy - love both.

Yea, attorneys, I know no one likes 'em until you need one ... then you really hate them. But hey, our profession likes to drink - so this is the perfect hobby for me.

I do social work. Currently working in a group home for mentally ill adults, schizophrenia is the most common diagnosis. Honestly, I hate every second of it, and it's mostly because of the uber-PC direction our management is going. Our clients have more rights than the workers do and it's caused some dangerous situations for the workers.

My dream job would be either something in beer or graphic design...or maybe marry my interests and design labels for beer. :grinning:
