you sure do complain a lot. Was there anything in that trailer you disagree with? They made no opinionated claims, just stated facts. It would be like if some local film maker in Indiana made a film for a local film festival about Dark Lord day. To deny that PtE and PtY had an impact on craft beer would be ignorant. They were some of the earlier and most driving forces behind the west coast extremely hoppy beers. Sure there are now beers that are just as good or maybe better, but that does not change the impact RR has had on the industry, especially their small town.

I heard there was this unknown beer that didn't get enough hype, so I made a documentary about it - it's called PLINY.

Ok, either that or maybe people who try it really like it.

you're right. Your palate alone dictates hype. That is why all sour beers are nothing but hype. They are new fad, that truly everyone hates but cannot help follow the hype.

I love the fact that you didn't even listen to the video but still decided to bash the idea behind it. This thread is not about the Plinys being the best beerz eva. It is just about someone celebrating the success and impact these beers have.

You have become a whiny troll in numerous threads. Anytime either pliny is mentioned you have to make sure the whole world knows you think it is overrated. Guess what... no one cares. The beers is obviously appreciated by many people, and to some it might be their favorite beer, so what.

p.s. everything with coconut or mint is over rated/hyped because I don't like them.

    1) re: embarrassing hater,

pliny hype is easily deniable, because hype = marketing, not praise. pliny the younger is so in demand that spending even a penny on marketing it would be stupidity. bgrider85, it's a shame you're so paranoid and deluded as to believe whatever it is you believe that confuses you away from the obvious truth that "people actually like the beer, a lot," but that's just too bad for you.

    2) re: the video,

stopped it immediately because i can't stand idiotic "beer gurgle sounds" to augment beer videos (themselves something that are on thin ice with me to begin with).

    3) re: OP's username,

    unfortunate choice, or...?

I've had Pliny the elder a few times and found it to be mediocre at best. It may be amazing on tap but a bottle two weeks old left me unimpressed.

"Hype" on this site seems to fall into 3 categories.

    1. I can't get this beer without "jumping through some sort of hoops" and then when I get it I'm somehow disappointed; therefore, I scream "hype, hype"!!

    2. I can't get this beer at all and when somehow I fall ass-backwards into trying it, I'm somehow disappointed; therefore, I scream "hype, hype"!!

    3. I can get this beer easily all day, every day, and I say "meh"; therefore, I scream "hype, hype"!!

Everyone has different tastes, go watch an old episode of "Different Strokes", remind yourself that at least Willis and Ms. Garrett are still alive, have a beer, and relax! "What you talkin' about Willis? Everybody don't have to like what you like!":stuck_out_tongue:

    I don't love IPA's (including DIPA's like Pliny), but who cares?:grimacing:

Holy crap, just found out Mr. Drummond is still kickin at 89 too, there you go, have a beer!
