RN Unit Manager on a cardiopulmonary rehab unit.

I manage 60 patients, 8 nurses' aides, 3 LPNs, and another RN that works below me. I also deal with all of the families, doctors, other department heads, and my own boss. Oh...and I'm also responsible for managing problems on the evening and overnight shift, to boot.

This is the reason why I'm a beer advocate.

Retired Marine who now works for the Department of Defense managing a team that oversees defense contractors to assess their manufacturing ability and provide in-plant oversight on high risk contracts. It allows me to feel like I am still contributing even tho' I am no longer in uniform.

Municipal Water & Sewer Laborer for a small city in the 603! I'm #1 in the #2 business! Haha Someone has to do these SHITTY jobs. Awesome benefits though.....

Used to be a cog in the middle management of big box retail machine, don't miss that at all. Feel bad for all those that still work in places like that.
To me money should never be the only thing that drives happiness.

    A printer?
I also did that, during the Depression, from '08-'12. Newspapers (college, high school, small town weekly, etc.), brochures, event programs, menus, etc. . We had c. 1975 community presses.

I could see the writing on the wall, from the beginning. Most of the audience is/was the pre-computer generations. New EQ was constantly being added to the parent company, while we got their newer hand-me-downs . Lower priced competitors, with much poorer quality constantly jumped in. Despite some asbolutely crappy work, some customers would settle for it, because of the slightly lower cost. When my other job could become full-time, I took it. They closed it last August, moved some of the work to other sites. I don't miss it. (much)
