Anyone remember when I joked about doing that exact thing last year for the 12oz bottles? Sad to see it's almost been true for a few local releases. Pathetic

I have a feeling the 27 cases of Hipster Brunch and 8 cases (half the total beer bottled) of Pike 51 Sensual Bean will be solidly eclipsed by this release. Don't be surprised when people come with $1,000's to buy 10's of cases for large mule groups.

I really am tempted to go to this but fear getting shut out as I won't be able to get up there until 7-8 AM at the earliest as I work late Friday night and won't be able to leave until morning. The only reason I am even considering going is because Perrin does not distribute to my area of the state so unless I pick up some in a trade this would be my only realistic shot. The worse part is I would just want like 6 bottles and we all know that there are going to be jackasses buying up 3-5x this amount:slight_frown: causing others such as myself to get shut out

This could be the worst release ever. I've heard of several large mule groups that will be buying hundreds of cases between a few people. Also, I heard "the mules" will be camping out, so they can be the first to feast on the bottles. If this is true, Perrin could have avoided this with a couple case limit. I'm going to get there a few hours early. I won't be shocked if I strike out!

My suggestion would be to call your local store that carries Perrin and request that they order a case (or whatever you're looking for). Based on everything I've read/heard, there should be quite a bit of this hitting distro. If a few shops were doing pre-orders, I have to believe that there's at least some quantity of this hitting the market.

This release is NOT going to be enjoyable for many folks...Avoid the hassle and try to source some elsewhere.

Im skipping this one. More for you guys. Not driving two hours at the crack of dawn......wait...and then find out I get nothing. Stupid release. Dont understand the logic of not putting a limit on bottles.

    No rules, bro, no rules.

If indeed there are mules groups purchasing large quantities, that is unfortunate as well. Beer has become a commodity instead of something to be consumed, shared, and enjoyed.

Saturday morning plans...wake up, go pop some popcorn and sit down to read the updates on how this release is going. Should be entertaining.

The thing that gets me is they did put a limit on the bomber release last time. Yes, it didn't sell out among the people waiting in line at the open, but it still sold. And that was a week after the no limit 12 oz. bottle release, which sold out quickly. I was up there for the bomber release last time, and it was nice and orderly. I'm not going to try this time, though.

Pretty much what I do, except when you have more beer than you can drink or are saving some (BBA Odd Side) to bring to a friend over your vacation.

It seems that the breweries would wise up to the mule groups. I get that the brewers want to sell all of their limited releases to avoid the hassles of retail distribution. It's just not good business to have people line up for your product and then walk away empty handed.

There's a real simple solution. When brewers announce their limited release sales, the breweries need to immediately announce that they reserve the right to limit the beer sold per customer the day of the event. They can then take a quick head count about 10 minutes before the sale starts. Not everyone would purchase the maximum but then there would be enough for some of the stragglers who arrive a little later. Hell, the people at the front of the line could go stand in line again if they wanted to.

This would allow everyone who stands in line before the sale starts to be able to purchase some beer. It would also pretty much ensure that the brewer sells all of their product the day of the release if that is their desire. It may even prevent people from waiting in line all night - what good does it do to be first in line if you get the same amount of beer as the last guy in line?

Damn, this ain't rocket science. It's win-win for everybody except the beer group members who don't attend the release. Fuck those guys.

Waiting for the inevitable "this was a learning experience for us" quote from Perrin after this release.

Hah, no doubt. They'll have one guy typing that into the Book of Faces while another is adding up the chunks of cash they received.

Sounding more and more like it's not worth it to try. Need better breweries on the east side so I don't have to deal with this nonsense!

Didn't you drop like 18 grand on that? I've been trying to figure out how many cases I can pile into my Daewoo Lanos.

Actually, count me among the others that are glad to be out of town for this one. Hope it goes smoothly for everyone attending, but I'm expecting the worst. Was it really only 7 months ago that I was able to stroll into Perrin at 9pm and easily get 2 bombers? My, how times have changed.
