I don't think being angry that IPAs don't have bottled/canned on or best by dates is a pet peeve. That shit should be fucking mandatory.

Easy, lack of bottled on dates is by far my biggest pet peeve in the world of beer.

BA posts that are incoherent and it's clearly because the poster has been drinking. Obviously I'm never gonna knock drinking beer and posting on BA simultaneously (it often adds some intrigue), and I'm not expecting posts on a beer forum to have perfect grammar or be in iambic pentameter; plus over time I've learned to interpret what most BA's are trying to say when they're a few beers deep so it's usually not an issue. But once in awhile you read posts that are so sloppy you have no idea what the person is getting at and you can just tell that it's because they've lost the wherewithal/concern to put their thoughts together.

Full disclosure, I'm sure I've been guilty of this in the past.

I'm somewhere between buzzed and flat out drunk every time I start a thread. Sometimes I'm careful, and my threads are coherent and make sense. Other times, they don't.

Number one pet peeve is lack of a "born on" date on either bottles or cans. Just put something on the beer, I don't care if it's Julian or whatever, I'll figure it out.

Also, people who try and circumvent bottle limits.

Loud obnoxious patrons who try to impress their group of friends with how much they (don't) know about beer. Also, people who "don't like" beer, you just haven't had the right one for your taste yet!

Ordering a beer and getting the wrong one on draft, happens a lot.
Chilled glasses don't bother me, but wrong glassware does. Give me beer in the right glass.

Local stores that sell growlers, finally put a rare one on tap, then say sorry that ones not available in growlers.

Anything packaged in larger than 12oz.

However ironically 11.2oz imports annoy me.

(Not serious about the second part).

Speaking of "pet peeves" :grinning:... that goofy "Born On"* term is copyrighted by Anheuser-Busch (and even they have recently dropped it).
    * Beer is not "born" - it is bottled, canned or racked into kegs. The act of packaging beer is different from giving birth, as I understand both processes.

One of my recent ones is folks on the trading forum & elsewhere referring to IPAs/DIPAs as "hops" e.g., ISO NE hops. Is IPA too difficult to spell? I just don't get it. Should stouts & porters be referred to as "malts"?
