Dark Lord Day 2016

I was thinking "Death Cab for Cutie" to keep up the 'heavy metal rocker' appearance - until they come out, everyone is ready to headbang and they just jump right into some real melancholy shit....that'd be awesome!

 

They will take you where ever you want if you pay for it.

 

Now that we've been discussing the bottle shares, guest taps and food, that makes me think of what happens to all that...how are the facilities at DLD? I'm assuming standard port-a-potties - do these get pretty nasty once the afternoon rolls around?

 

They are about as good as you would expect for a beer festival full of 2000 drunk people drinking heavy stouts and sours all day.

 

Hey hey hey, some of us would get real excited for Belle and Sebastian.

 

I hear Air Supply is looking for gigs as well.

 

The randomness of the taps is awesome. It prevents excessive lines. The beers are all excellent and once in a while you'll find something you can brag to your friends about.

Last year around 4:00 pm one HC port-o-potty (or maybe the only HC one) was experiencing 100% liquid displacement when I used it. For every fl. oz. that left me, a fl. oz. spilled right out onto the floor. I should have known from the trail of pretty blue "water" that was seeping out of the port-o-potty into one of the many puddles. That image haunts my dreams. Moral of the story; Bring footwear that you don't care about.

I am going to wear an astronaut diaper to DLD. No need to use the Port-O-Johns.

 

No bottles sold this year besides the 4 2016 DLs and the variant right? Hadn't seen that confirmed in this yet, but I figured I'd ask since the site made it like that, however, I always thought FFF loved being able to sell previous year's DLs at these for those who somehow miss a year or two.

 

Yes, they stopped doing that last year so it will most likely be the same this year.

 

Last year, they sold DL 2014 at the kiosk a couple of days before DLD and I think after as well. I know it was on two separate occasions because I stopped bye twice for my 2 DL '14s that I got.

As others have said, last year no bottles. 2 years ago, vintage DL and most regulars. My backpack was so heavy.

this year i'd expect no sales day of.

 

It was a brutal walk back to the car with 2 cases of Zombie, and like 10 bombers of dark lord/others
