So a buddy and I are heading to Worcester later tonight and were planning to head to Armsby and Dive bar, but doesn't look like Armsby has TV's to watch the NCAA games. Does Dive bar? Or any other recommendations on where to go for good beer and watching the games? Cheers Devin
+1 on The Boynton I believe Dive Bar has a tiny TV but I've only ever seen it playing a DVD of Road House starring Patrick Swayze :-)
If only I could take the HF from the other bars and move them to Boynton haha! Thanks for the heads up, will probably check it out.
Aha! So my plan to open up a sports bar with taps like those at Armsby (but with more...) looks like it could be a winner.
Haha yeah, as long as you can get HF to fill those taps! Also, is it worth going to both Armsby and Divebar or do they both have the same HF taps usually? I found Armsby's oline but looks like Dive Bar hasn't updated theirs in 3 years!
Check out Dive Bar's instagram account. They update it with a tap list regularly. - https://www.instagram.com/thedivebar/
I doubt I'd do it, but I'd also work to get Fiddlehead, Foley Brothers, Lawson's and other great stuff. I know nothing about running a bar, but I'm a sports nut who is often unhappy with the taps at any sports bar.
Yeah couldn't agree more. A lot of the good craft bars don't have great TV setups. They're a dime a dozen.
Blarney Stone has Be Hoppy pitchers for $14 iirc. Might get messy but they will stay open late for the ~10pm start games too.
Brew City has upped it's beer game recently. It's not on the Abbey's level but they do get Grimm from time to time and their list changes constantly.
Thankfully with the proliferation of better beer you no longer need to go to only hipster, uppity beer geek spots without "dreaded" tv's for better beer. Hell, a Buffalo Wild Wings just opened near me with 50 taps, lots of good stuff on - & a zillion tv's for sports.
