I'm hoping that, with upcoming MD and KBB releases (and, it's been implied, other unobtainiums) that they will do some sort of lottery or something like they did with MD last summer. I have several friends that say Mug Club members get all that and we commoners are outta luck. I hope that's not the case. I have yet to try Assassin, SR-71 or KBB. I'd love to get a chance to sample them, but won't lose sleep if it doesn't happen.

Yes. Last I heard there was over a year waiting list to get on it as well.

Got ya. I am out of state so I will never hve a chance for that. I have a buddy that is a golf pro about 2 hours aways from TG. Hoping I can win a lottery at some ploy T and make a 3-4 day weekend out of it and play some golf and drink some great beer.

They actually closed the wait list because it got so long.

Lakeland MD..... They aren't really Toppling Goliath anymore, they're outsourcing to him

Thanks for replying. I was visualizing a sit-down conversation with both of them present. What I was picking up on as tension was simply that they were not in the same conversation with each other, but were answering separately.

Personally I want TG to bring back their Robust Porter, Robusto! But it's hard to look at the way porters sell and make a convincing argument it's a smart business move. I sure do love them, though. Underbrewed and underappreciated style.

It took me a few reads, but I figured it out. Lakeland (Brew Hub) Mornin Delight (inferring/joking that it will be made in Florida). They're no longer toppling Goliath, they're outsourcing him.

Do porters not sell well? I buy the crap out of them, and it seems a common style for larger breweries to have as a year round offering, but that said I honestly am curious how popular a style it is sales wise.

And yes, I want a TG porter!

But you live in Wisconsin! You guys are a super mature market that understands craft lagers like New Glarus and Metropolitan. Not every market is like that. Most are really IPA dominant where few other styles are able to stand out. I have heard that porter sales (and therefore brewing) are down nationwide, at least according to IRI data and anecdotally on podcast's like The Beer Temple's Insider's Roundtable. I still love them.

Sierra Nevada Porter and Anchor Porter are great but no one buys them. Sell a little Founder's porter my personal favorite.

I loved porters at one time. I still like them, but it's rare for me to get one between April and October.

I'll give Driftless a spin or two I'm sure. I'm kind of a sucker for any product that uses the Driftless Area as it's branding.

If you like all things driftless, you should check these guys out: https://www.facebook.com/DriftlessBrewingCompany

I haven't had any of their beers, so I can't comment on quality/flavor profiles, etc.

It's easy to get a porter to sell well. Call it a stout!

I know this has been done to death, but I just had an early March Florida suedo sue and let me tell ya, couldn't ask for anything more. The easy winner amongst many contenders!
