Woohoo! The triumphant return of Ft. George Suicide Squeeze!

Very much looking forward to this. The original was great. Not sure what to expect with this version since it's not a session IPA anymore. I just hope it's the still the orange juice bomb (but with bitterness) that the original was. Oh, and it's coming in a gold can with color-changing ink? Ok.

Somebody in a previous thread said this was the 2014 3-Way recipe - not sure how much merit there is in that. It is the same ABV but from what I can find, 3-Way had Chinook instead of Amarillo. Either way, this sounds like a winner for summertime.

I'm headed down to Fort George today. I'll get the definitive scoop.

3-Way 2014 was 7.2% and sure as hell had Mosaic in it.

Sounds like the King is back, baby! Hail to the King.

edit: Cans hitting the week of April 13th.

I think I'm just as eager for this beer as I am for this year's 3-Way.

If they don't have the info for some reason, Jack Harris will be here tomorrow and I won't let him leave without an answer.

They've actually always been very cool to me during my visits. Last year they gave me a taste of bbl Cavatica before they released it for sale and pulled a sample of Overdub from the tank for me to try as well.

Drinking Beta 10.1... Test version for this year's 3-way. Just tapped, timed this trip perfectly.

At first it was very good, but definitely needed to open up a bit as the nose felt muted. But after it warmed it really came alive. For a test batch it is very promising. I imagine their next step, as they've done in the past, is to tweak the water profile which will bring out the hops even more. Expect the final version to be another great one. They have a cask version as well so I'll do some more research.

Any confirmation on the origin of the new Suicide Squeeze?

Not 2014 3-Way. Taste is similar but they said it's a bigger version of the original Suicide Squeeze.

Probably because they already have 2 other session IPAs in their lineup: Big Guns, available year-round and quite good, and Overdub, available occasionally (frequently?) and really good.

Another thought: They're calling this one Suicide Squeeze Special Edition, to distinguish it from the original Suicide Squeeze. I don't know Fort George's plans for the brand, but it does seem to leave the door open to bring back the original at some point.

Well they had intended to bring back Suicide Squeeze last year, but the record company they had collaborated with wanted some ridiculous sum of money, so instead they made the aptly titled Overdub. I guess the fact that they're now doing SS again must mean they've come to an agreement.

I thought Big Guns was decidedly average for Ft George. I only bought it once.
I liked Overdub a bit better but its no Suicide Squeeze!
