    Waddup everyone,

I'll be in DC April 6-10 for the first time. Any breweries or brew pubs worth going to while I'm there?

I've been hearing DC Brau, Right Proper, Atlas, and Bluejacket.

    Thanks!

Right Proper is a must. I like all of the others as well (and 3 Stars) but RP is the one not to miss.

Not that the beers aren't good but don't bother going to DC Brau, they don't really brew much (if anything these days) other than what is heavily distributed, you should have no problems finding most of their beers at bars around town. It's not in a convenient location and it's not really a place I'd want to hang out.

Again, not trying to knock them, just saying you are better off going elsewhere for their beer. Chuchkey, Meridian Pint, etc.

If I had to choose only two, I would choose RightProper and BlueJacket.

Not sure if they actually brew anything at the DC location but Mad Fox is good. Their main location in Falls Church isn't far if you have a car.

3 Stars recently made some renovations to their brewery/taproom and always have some great offerings. Bluejacket and Right Proper are probably after 3 Stars for me, partially because 3 Stars is easier to get to from where I live.

As others have said, DC Brau is solid but you aren't missing much by not going to the brewery. I would probably just go there to grab some On the Wings of Armageddon.

I happen to really like DC Brau. their offerings are solid to good, the place is oftentimes fun (or full of fkn children), on Friday night it's $2.50 pint night....
