Other Half Brewing Thread (March 2016)

Had it today. Thought it was fantastic.

 

This release really turned me off from other half in general. Not that they have some obligation to spread out the cams to as many people as possible in line, but the least they could do is give people waiting in line some type of update whether or not they are likely/not likely to get the beers available. No one even communicated that wrist bands were given out. My assumption is this was on purpose because they didn't want everyone to bail and not stick around to clean up the piles of Forever Ever that were left over. I don't think it would be that hard for them to consider the time their fans are giving by waiting in line 3 hours to then be told sorry, the beer you're all here for is gone.

 

ACE is tasting awesome! Can't wait to see how this develops over a couple weeks.

 

I guess I'll dig deep and make sure my Task Rabbit is ready for a long night on April 8th-9th, and I'll set up some trades so I can add to the #JerseyBrozWhalezOnlyBottleAndCanShare , but seriously, does anyone know what the cans will be? I don't know why, but I am actually thinking of coming in for it after 5 months away............

 

Other Half releases are just awful. Plain and simple. I had enough after the oat overdose release. They do just about everything wrong after brewing the beer.

 

I've never been to an OH release and I'm already turned off them.

 

They've gotten worse over time. There's something wrong with the system if you show up before they open yet still can't get 2 out of 3 beers canned that day. Getting there after8am and you're screwed if it's a beer in high demand

 

My new normal for beer release is so fucked up

 

Off the topic but I saw Other Half is doing a beer for Mission Dolores 6th Anniversary party this coming Friday the 1st

 

Hahaha, so true. To be fair, 1:45 wait after open from halfway down Smith is actually maybe slightly quicker than normal from that spot. Which says a lot about the glacial pace of OH lines.

 

This is awesome, we can only hope it's as good as Greenbacks was.

What? Just a monthly can release and it seems like a PtY release. Was hoping for some cans in this summer beercation, but standing in a line for 4~5 hours... wow.

 

While you guys complain about the line yesterday, Get Wheated is in its prime right now! Best collab they've done. This probably won't be my last today

 

You do know there are other places in NYC that sell beer ? Just checking as this valuable info could save you 4 hours or so. Cheers!

 

Any idea if ACE will be on for fills this week? Or will it continue to be DONG.

 

had the mosaic at RnH today... definitely not the same beer that was canned last time. that batch was hazy, dank and you could smell it from across the room. this one had no aroma, was clear, and was bitter with barely any hops. im wondering if the bartender served me the wrong IPA.
