Good morning BA, have a great Monday! I have today off yet again, would rather be working though. We had a good sized storm out there last night into this morning.

Awesome IPA, just got another 6 pack yesterday. Bright flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange rind, light pepper, and pine hop/fruit notes; with some light caramel/toasted bready malt and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/rind/spicy bitterness; with a sticky and lightly creamy mouthfeel. Good dryness with no bitter hop astringency. I love this just as much as Sculpin, and the price is awesome too. I have been buying a lot of New Belgium lately.

Incredible DIPA. Big flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, apricot, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate malts of light honey/toasted bread with herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/herbal/grassy bitterness; with a nice sticky/resinous mouthfeel with some light-medium creaminess; with great balance and no astringency. Moderately dry finish. Nothing but juicy hops, with a nice malt backbone that isn't too sweet or heavy in the mouthfeel. Need to finish off this 4 pack, getting a bit aged now, but still delicious.

My last Feb 2013 bottle. Tasting amazing as usual. Huge flavors of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, molasses, vanilla, raisin, plum, fig, cherry, date, nutty biscuit, and light chocolate; with hints of leather/tobacco from age. Light herbal bitterness with some oak spice on the finish against the sweetness; zero cloying. Very smooth and lightly warming for 9.8%. Creamy/silky full body. One of my top favorite widely available old ales along with Old Stock. I try to get a 4 pack every year now, at least.

My last 2015, still tasting incredible. Huge flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and light-moderate licorice/dark fruits. Balanced bourbon/oak spiciness and roasted bitterness on the finish; with a full bodied creamy/silky and fairly slick mouthfeel. Smooth finish with a small lingering ABV warming and zero booziness. Nicely mellowed out on the alcohol now, with a fantastic balance between coffee, malt, and barrel flavors. I grabbed 2 packs of 2016 that I will be enjoying eventually. There are just way too many amazing imperial/BA stouts to stock up on just a single one for me. So I always end up only buying only a pack or two of each every year and rotating through them.

    Cheers

Good morning, BA's! Hope you all had a relaxing weekend. I had to forego NBS again this weekend, due to work and other obligations. But although I missed out on the Easter libations, I made it my personal mission not to miss out on the food. After having committed myself to making a crapton of eggrolls for the church breakfast, I of course had to sample some for quality control prior to delivery. Verdict: Passed.

Holiday weekends at the group home are pretty special. Our staff cooked up a "traditional" Easter dinner for the residents, complete with glazed ham, potato salad, baked beans, Jell-O cake, and some special (read: experimental) deviled eggs:

And now it's time to decompress and have some breakfast. I think I'll start with this FBS. Absolutely perfect for a chilly and frosty Iowa morning!

I like a lot of Cigar City products including Jai Alai. I especially like their Maduro brown ale.

Not the best of photos, but this is my final day of spring break treat. In one month, the last and largest part of my final assessment is due. A week after that I graduate. All the while coaching. Celebrating the end of spring break and the push towards the end with a little Missouri coffee in a brewsky that I absolutely love. Cheers to the final 400m of my undergrad college career.

My Dad grew up in Tampa and I have been told my grandparents even rolled cigars in Ybor City, and yet I have never had a Cigar City beer. :slight_frown:
