Best stout brewed with chilies/spices?

None beat Huna.

 

Stone Xocoveza. Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero is decent too.

 

Space Ghost is my favorite

 

Chocolate Yeti.. Cayenne in the back is great.

 

Oddside's Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Mayan Mocha Stout

 

I'm looking for all those.

Chocolate Sombrero was pretty darn good.

 

J Wakefield Desperado is pretty great and spicier than Huna

 

people go apeshit for El Lechedor from Night Shift.

Oh, you mentioned that. Lost Abbey My Black Parade was outstanding.

 

Cellared regular Bomb a couple years.

Had Huna on draft recently, was pretty strong on the cinnamon. Need to do a full bottle to get a more informed opinion on it.

 

Westbrook Mexican Cake is a great pepper stout

 

Voodoo - Grand Negro Voodoo Papi. Both the apple brandy and bourbon barrel aged were great

Westbrook Mexican cake does the pepper the best IMO. Reasoning, They use habenero (which is extremely hot), but they do such an amazing job with the pepper, that you do not get the gross* green pepper skin taste, you just get a little heat and it just makes your mouth tingle and throat tingle (not enough to burn). Abraxas and HUNA are also notable, but as for the use of a pepper, mexican cake takes the crown IMO. (AGAIN NOT JUDGING THE WHOLE BEER PROFILE, just how well each brewer used the peppers).

Edit: as a comparison, Mayan Mocha from Oddside uses habenero, but if you cannot take heat, that brew will torch your mouth.

 

I have very limited experience with chile stouts, but Dark Sky Brewing in Flagstaff, AZ makes a decent Serrano dry stout.

 

New Belgium's Coco Mole was the best I've ever had.
