What's the markup? Whatever it is, it's probably worth avoiding waiting in that line.

Sat was my first visit since Street green and most likely my last. I would definitely consider paying double for the convinence of not having to rot on line for 4+ hours again. Where is that?

You already have that exact option, it's called Singlecut.

So a total of 4 hours to get your beer, not considering heading in from NJ.

It is a slow line compared to other releases at other breweries. But the time needed to get the beer, say 3 to 5 hours (depending on what is released), is A LOT more than it was for most of last year. This is what is turning people off here. Probably in the fall, it started to become bad with the Trillium collab. I've been able to get there at 10:30-11:30 and have little (20 min) to no wait for cans. Now, if you are not there by 8:15, you'll likely be shutout.

I'll look for drafts around me and growler fills when I can. But the only time I'm heading in now is when I have a friend that wants to visit the taproom. Plenty of easier ways to get other great beer. Will I miss GD, AGE, etc? Absolutely! But will be great to revisit in the future.

Yup - I've gotten Mosaic, Galaxy, Amarillo, El Dorado, AGE, Green Diamonds, Hop Showers, & Doug all after 1 or 2PM, waiting max 10 minutes in line. That hasn't happened in several releases and I don't see it happening again soon. Sad, because I loved all of those beers.

In all fairness you could have gotten Galaxy, Get Wheated, and Forever Ever after 1 pm without waiting in line.

Also Equinox and AGE had no wait, at least when I went at 11:30. It's really just these big releases that draw the insane crowds - collabs with more notable breweries (sorry Bunker!), anniversary, and apparently single-hopped DIPAs. I was pretty shocked that ACE brought out people earlier than Street Green. It basically tastes the same as Citra to me.

Anyone miss All Brett Everything and Jimmy like I do and want them to brew those again? I know people keep bringing up Greenbacks and G is for Green, which I loved, but where is all the love for All Brett Everything and Jimmy?

Just found out I'll be in NYC for work Sun to Tuesday (4/3-4/5). Any chance ACE drops on draft by then?

    Maybe growlers around the city

Yup I just was busy for those releases. Also Forever Ever is really boring - I wouldn't bother. That same weekend, fresh Boat cans and growler fills of Hop Lab Citra were available. My point was just that I used to be able to fly over to OH for some cans when it was convenient - now, I have to make the release the focal point of my day. Might not seem like a huge difference to some but it really is. Also my total time spent at OH (not including travel since thats different for everyone) was never more than 30 mins for any of those. Sure, I could have waited for some of the other stuff - but ACE et al aren't 6-8 times better than the beers I listed and as such I wouldn't go. I think the next release I hit will be another "repeat" - AGE, GD, single hops, etc. Will I be sad when Double Galaxy gets released and it's amazing? Yes. Is it worth the pain? No.

This upsets me for many reasons, but mostly because you'll never tell us what store this is!

    Attention! Everyone! This is important!

Tom has waited on line at OH once.

So now let it be known that Tom has earned the right to call everyone else lazy.

    That will be all. :stuck_out_tongue:

do a weekday release or start distributing cans to small mom and pop grocers the week after the release (it seems some stores already have some cans). we all know the problem is out of towners. just check the instagram user locations right after a can release post- 90% from jersey.

I'm not an out of towner but due to my job and location (UWS), a weekday release would not be the easiest thing for me. I don't think there is a good option unless they can increase production. With the amount of beer they are making, people will always be left out or upset. Just because someone is "from Jersey" doesn't mean they shouldn't get the beer. You can easily argue someone from Jersey is basically a local. It's quicker to get to Other Half from Jersey City or Hoboken than where I live even though I am in NYC.
