It was almost a full house at opening. Seems like there were more people there for KBS than there was a few months back for the bourbon county event :astonished:

For the Philly/SEPA crowd, Beer Heaven put KBS out around 9 p.m. at one per person for about $10 per bottle with tax.

I just want to say that if anyone out there shows up anywhere and is looking for KBS and doesn't find it keep an eye peeled for Free Will brewing Brown Beard, Imperial broan ale with coffee, kane sugar and molasses aged in carribean rum barrels. It will itch your KBS scratch, could be better right now..not aged.

Off-topic, but I grabbed some Captains Daughter with my KBS purchase too and was happy to see a 3/28 date on it. Hope yours was from the same batch as well--drinks very nice

Last night at 8pm at WF Bowery there were 3 single KBS bottles left behind the counter, limit 1. The guy waiting in line in front of me got one, I got one, and the guy behind me got one. I thought we cleaned them out per our cashier but then another lady grabs a brand new case out and everyone behind us in line who looked distraught cheered. Still limit one so maybe some left by this morning.

KBS, the beer most beer nerds know isn't that good but must try every year so we talk about how it isn't that good.

I'd assume so, though I couldn't find a canned-on date on either of the 2 cans I bought. Date was probably on the plastic 4-pack holder.

I got my 165.00 dollar case . This will be my last,I remember buying my first 6 years ago for just over a Hundred.
The chase was fun and I usually had more KBS then the bars did but at 165.00 a case the thrill is gone.
My take on it is the higher ABV makes it harder to drink, didnt care for the mouthfeel as it was kind of burny and not as smooth as last year because of the ABV. I have been loyal and successful but Founders increases are nuts. 120 last year
165 this year, takes the fun out of it.

    Fun KBS story...

I have this guy come into the shop I work at and he's looking at a magazine and perusing the craft beer aisles. In said magazine (unfortunately I don't know the name), is a list of "must try, or trending beers" nonsense, I hate when people bring that stuff in because they can become a real nuisance because they just have no idea. I get that they're trying to maybe enter the craft scene or whatever but they feel the magazine has more to provide then, say, asking me, or perhaps just trying things on your own and deciding what you like. I guess some people need guidance in that form? So, he's asking if we have this and if we have that. A lot of it isn't distributed to the state, so I was only able to help him with a select few. Once he has all his purchases at the register I tell him we have KBS and asks if he wants one...no joke, he quickly scans through the list again, doesn't see it, and politely declines. I thought it was hilarious. Although if he becomes a BA of any sorts, I wonder if that will be his "Dammit!" moment?

FYI: Most, but not all, of the beers he had asked for were IPA's, so I have no idea what the theme of the list was. Frankly I could care less when your opening line to me is "Do you have Pliney the Elder?"

You could've, you know, not spent $165 on it.

At that price it's still a cheaper per ounce price than BCBS. And 12 ounces is easier to drink in one sitting than 17.

I would be thrilled to get a case, even at $165. As it stands, I may end up being thrilled if I can get a single bottle.
