Reviving an old thread to say very simply that I shared a bottle of introspection four ways last night.

I thought it was an excellent, elegant interpretation of the style. really happy I have another bottle.

Anyone crack a bottle of Sylph saison yet? I'm getting the same synthetic rubber aroma I got from Introspection, just on a slightly milder scale. I'm assuming it's from the specific brett strain he's using. Anyone else get this? Overall its a pretty good wild saison, but this re-accuring aroma is a little off-putting.

Finally made it out to see these guys the other day. Fantastic beers, IMO. Aggregation is a fantastic gose. I'd love to see more breweries try to tackle making delicious beers under 3% ABV.

Also, per a facebook update from the brewery, it looks like Deciduous will start distro to MA soon. Happy for this brewery. I predict they'll be big in the future.

I see they are already distributed in ME. On tap occasionally at Novare, York River Landing, and bottles at the 7-11 in Kittery.

I've found them on tap at Kings Head in Portland a couple of times. Love the Cumulation "Imperial" Gose.

Now seeing them on tap around Boston in the past few weeks, and bottles just dropped at Redstone today.

Was just there with my wife and 3 month old. They were more then welcoming to us and loved having the baby in. The girl chatted with us about my daughter for a while. We lucked out and got the couch, so with a towel down my little one could lay down and hang out comfortably while we had a few tasters. Definitely a cool spot to go to and the big community tables there are really nice. Lots of people have card games with them. Certainly a place to go in groups as it gets crowded and loud and a bit hard to just mingle if alone depending on the crowd. But if you get a spot at the bar I'm sure its all good. Only two tasters allowed at a time. Even if with two people.

Anybody know what the purpose of the wheat flour is?

To hold on to as much hop aroma and flavor as possible through particulates staying in suspension. Looking at that one beer and their Tillage I am not a fan of the direction for at least appearance. Wish breweries would stop trying to chase this trend of brewing.

Regardless, looking forward to their barrel aged projects.

He said on FB that the flour was just to bump the protein content. This beer drops bright but it adds to the mouthfeel. I wish breweries to chase whatever end result they want. It's a good deal of the fun.

I just had the Dormancy Tayberry/Coconut and Fig/Maple. Both were good, however neither were a Imp. porter as specified on the label. The T/C had huge carbonation and head with a super sweet tangy berry flavor. I actually at first thought it was infected, and when I looked it up apparently that was the flavor they were going for. In the end, a good beer, but no characteristics of a porter, but each to there own. The coconut finish was its savior. As for the F/M, complete opposite spectrum. Thick and viscous with little head or carbonation. Taste is once again sweet but def more from the fig. It also finishes sweet from the Maple, more breakfast then savory.
Both good, and have heard the Grissett is outstanding.

And if it adds to the mouthfeel and hops, I completely agree. I personally LOVE the look of a hazy pale ale, but appearance is way over-rated anyways. Styles and beer are ever evolving. Just because a pale ale was traditionally supposed to be clear doesn't mean that we should look down upon beer that is hazy. Otherwise we might as well just go back to drinking all gruits. Change is good. Haze is good. (Now I'm not supporting the 'haze for the sake of haze' trend, but all things equal, I like cloudy beer and would never EVER sacrifice flavor, aroma, or mouthfeel just to conform to a 'look' that some people deemed proper. F that!)

I had the same reaction too. It said Porter so I was expecting like a coconut porter, but I got more of the berry than anything else. I was taken aback at first but once I got past that it was good.

They should post pics of their beer when it drops bright then ... two of the beers they posted look very cloudy to nearly turbid.

That Tillage is just about the milkiest beer I've ever seen. Way hazier than a HF or even most TH beers. I thought it might have had something to do with them just tapping the keg, but guess not.

Needless to say, I thought the flavor in that beer was excellent for a 4% hoppy beer.

There wasn't a single beer there that I thought was awful. Not even close to terrible or plain old shitty.

But hey, thats one less kook in my way when I visit next time. Keep up the good work.
