Your beer ritual

Around 7 in the evening after I've eaten and finished all my work, pour a beer, quickly review it, then plug in my guitar.

 

I always crack the beer w/the price tag 1st.

 

Usually i get home from work and everybody is asleep so i creep around lol, pick a beer. Make food to pair with that beer.

 

I carry my beer, bottle cap, and #ProperGlassware out to the back deck, pour the beer into said glassware, prop the bottle cap against the bottle, and take a photograph with my phone. I then upload the photograph to Photobucket and paste the link into WBAYDN, along with a half-assed review.

 

When I feel like a beer I go to my beer fridge open it up and eye out my selection for a minute or 2 if something catches my eye I usually pick it up and look at it, read the label, admire the artwork for 15 to 20 seconds. Sometimes that's the beer I take inside to drink and sometimes it's not. Sometimes it takes a couple of beers eyed over before I make my choice but when it's the right beer I know, I feel it.
Then I take it inside and I do exactly what dcotom in the post above me does.

Hang with wife, usually watching TV until she goes to bed. Work a few hours, walk the dogs from 11:30 til 12:30, drink water until 1, open beer and either peruse this site or work some more

 

1. Go to store
2. Try and get a new beer every time
3. Anticipate.. Open while doing hw or by the fire (Sometimes both) P.s Need warm weather soon in New England enough of this 1/2 nice 1/2 bad crap....
4. Review beer
5. Eat a meal

 

I always pick out a nice assortment from the beer fridge,load them up into the ice bucket and go sit outside in my garden or greenhouse.

 

When I get home, I crack open a beer, pour into a snifter, snap a picture, and then begin reviewing. I always start out with any new-brews, and then move onto revisiting beers. By the time I hit my second beer, I'm usually on a video game or watching a show.

On Saturday, I go down to the cellar and grab out a big bottle of anything coffee related and put it in the fridge. The next morning I open it up and enjoy some morning coffee.

 

Old school myself, open, pour and drink, anytime the mood strikes. Being retired increases flexibility.

 

Drink 2 beers per day, after dinner. One at 10:00 PM and the other after that. One from a supermarket (new to me or a classic) and from a specialized shop ( new to me beers mostly) On saturdays I use to drink a single 75cl bottle instead, starting at 10:00 PM too. The ABV of the beers depends on how soon I have to wake up next day.

 

I have 4 fridges in my basement I try to keep stocked with varying offerings so when I'm ready for a beer, I'll just peek around until I find what is right for that moment. Then I restock

 

I usually have 2 beers each night starting at around 10pm. Sometimes I know what I'm gonna be drinking, but most of the time I find myself sitting on my haunches in front of my fridge for a few minutes as I try to decide what to have.

My one idiosyncrasy is that I prep my glass well in advance of opening my beer. The cabinet where I keep my glassware imparts a weird woody smell I don't like, so I like to rinse out the glass I'll be using and leave it on my drying rack a good twenty minutes before I open my beer.

 

Grab some food and beer after work while everyone's sleeping and catch up on my shows.

 

Never more than two at a time. Yeah, you read that right, sometimes I blend two together to increase or diminish certain characteristics of either one. Sum of the parts sorta thing, it's all good.

 

Come home-say hi to the wife on the way to the fridge-choose beer and appropriate glass-sit down on couch with wife-take that first sip-exhale loudly-enjoy the bliss.

 

Usually starts with me going to my basement after a bad day, looking at all the bottles and deciding nothing strikes my fancy, and why would I consume a depressant after a shitty day anyway? Then I go back upstairs and drink some water. On the days I actually feel like a beer I go to the basement, can't choose because they all sound good, wind up grabbing a couple different bottles and stuffing them in the fridge. I eat dinner, do dishes, bathe the kid, and after everyone goes to bed I grab whichever bottle sounds best, pour it into whatever glass seems appropriate, and sit down and enjoy the first couple sips. I am promptly woken up by my alarm and realize half the beer is still there.
