Holy Shit! Or should I say Holy Mountain!? Folks I had a moment of genuine worry when the FedEx guy literally dropped the box at the top porch step. I was in another part of the house but it literally shook, and I could clearly hear a thud. Brought it in and opened it like a child on Christmas, man. Super well packed, major props to @kemoarps for the packing job, spectacular.

So excited to try these beers it is gonna take an act of will not to open any right now, and to wait for Sunday. One by one I pulled these babies from box and what an amazing assortment of American brewing goodness, including two beers from a brewery I have been seeking and am so excited to try, the aforementioned Holy Mountain. Man what an assortment of deliciousness! Thanks so much @kemoarps you have absolutely blown me away with this!

Remember Dave, there are no rare beers in WA. None worth hyping. Hate to break it to you, but he sent you a box full of stale shelf turds. Rate accordingly.

I will try to remember that.

You guys have the right attitude for folks who live in beer paradise though, I gotta say.

Dying to try that Holy Mountain Grisette. One of my absolute favorite styles. Is it Sunday yet?

@kemoarps , does any of the Lopez Island stuff make it off the island? Plus, since you were sending stuff from home, why didn't you send some of this tasty goodness? http://lopezislandcreamery.com/

    Dave
I think there is enough there that you can enjoy a bottle or two (or three or four....) and still have something left for NBS

    Great job @kemoaps

Well I have now confirmed with 100% accuracy that my shipper is not who I thought it was.

That is unless @BigRedDog just sent me two giant boxes by mistake.
At one point I thought he was my sender but something made me cross him off of the list.
    Can't open it up now
But I will send pictures of the contents later.

As far as I know they are currently only available at the store on the island (and the local watering hole but that's not carry out...). So far I believe he's only bottled the Pale, though he's got some other stuff on the horizon.
So I know it was tongue in cheek, but aside from the reasons Dave listed for not including the ice cream, it is also no longer actually made on Lopez. History lesson time!
I was in elementary school when the creamery opened, and the founders youngest son was in my class. We had a class wide competition to name the new creamery (none of us came up with the obvious that they ended up going with... we were all like 7 years old and wanted to be clever... even at a young age I loved puns!). We used to go on field trips to their operation, though, and I was friends with McKenzie (said youngest son), so I got to eat it whenever I went over to their house as well. I believe they sold it some years back and the new owners I believe are the ones who eventually moved it to Anacortes.
Ironically, the space that is currently used to make Chicaoji (the hot sauce I included), I BELIEVE is the very same space that the Creamery started out in. If not the same unit, then I think it's in the same building. Small world. Smaller island.

Incidentally, the very last paragraph on the creamery website is absolutely true, but the reasons for why the waving started are not purely altruistic....

Dude, the anxiety is real. I still get the cold sweats every time I drop a box off until I see the photographic evidence of it in the possession of it's intended target

    Agreed!

    Words to live by!

Interesting. I dig that little bit of history. It's funny how being actually accurate causes the post office conniptions. Is Harriet a relative?

That's a good habit. I shall start doing the same!

Man, I just got back from a long weekend visiting my two best friends and am just getting caught up on the goings on in this here digital paradise... MAAAAAAN oh man. Y'all are awesome.

Also, @Ri0 GREAT call on compiling a list of links to all the boxes. I was wondering how we were going to objectively look through and assess each person's winningness, especially when we've got dozens of pages worth of posts between arrivals, so thank you for getting that rolling. I propose that on Sunday or Monday we do a final post with all of the pr0n links, and vote after that. Or something along those lines. Because I already know that I've changed my mind and antagonized over who I would vote for about a dozen times throughout this whole process.

    GO TEAM!

No she was the grandmother of, and left the property to, a friend of a friend, in fact we had a chance to look at the first lots that got BOHA approval, but the ex wife balked because it was dirt roads at that point. Two years later we still hadn't found anything, the roads were paved, and he opened up the most private piece of property only 2 acres, but with a semi mountain view and surrounded by 400 acres of woods, it was priced reasonably, we jumped.

And don't get me started about our Post Office.
