Firestone Walker Parabola 2016

Theres an older lady at the spot I go to get my beer. She started talking about Parabola and how much she loved it. True story. She said it was as good as sex. We both laughed as I picked up an additional bottle after her comment. She sold it to me without even realizing it. Cheers everyone!

 

Does Parabola sell out pretty quickly in Seattle? I'm going to be there in a few weeks, and I was hoping to score a bottle while in town, because this stuff sells out in minutes everywhere on the east coast. The few shops that get distro around here usually only get 6 bottles.

 

Ditto, Parabola from Whole Foods (Davis) and KBS from BevMo (Sacramento)

 

Called my BevMo today. Guy says they have a bunch of it...in the back. All you have to do is ask for it. Went in today. Sure enough, none on the shelf whatsoever.

Not sure if any others have noticed, but if you check the local grocery circulars in your mail, you will find a $10 of $75 at BevMo this week (believe it expires 4/10).

One potential purchase could be:

5 bottles of Parabola x $15.99 = $79.95 - $10.00 coupon = $13.99 per bottle of Parabola.

Party on!

 

Bought three bottles at different places for $22.99, then saw them at Bevmo for $15.99. Pissed I didn't go there first.

 

Anyone spot Parabola in Dallas??

 

Different entities? As in distribution companies? They are one and the same. They don't have one company that sends them Parabola and another company that sends them KBS. They contract with one distribution company and that is who brings their beer. And I believe for wine and liquer it is a different distribution company. But for all beers, it is the same distribution company they are contracted with. And it is not Founders or FW who decide what distribution companies live and which ones die. They have no say in who that liqueur company goes with. There is usually one strong distribution company in that stores county/area and that is who they are contracted with.

 

@TriggerFingers that is a smart move indeed. I keep getting those coupons in mail and email, but usually toss. I think Total Wine keeps sending out coupons too.

Also, this is my first year living in Seattle and have heard Parabola isn't too difficult to find for a couple months after distro.

 

I was told by my local Bevmo beer guy that they use a different beer distributor then another Bevmo that's 10 miles away, which is part of the reason why the other Bevmo already got parabola & they didn't. I did not realize that different Bevmo's next door to one another had different distributors based on geography

 

Got my case of Parabola at Bevmo (Studio City) yesterday took the hassle out of searching for multiple bottles.

 

Texas can be slow in approving new labels and tends to be behind for most of these. Abyss has only been there for about a month, but KBS already made it so who knows.

 

There are territories. Those two bevmos might be on the line and that is why there are two different distributors.

 

I skipped last year's release. I'll be grabbing one or two bottles this year.

 

So...my BevMo capped the Parabola at 2 per person. Fortunately there are still about 10 Sucaba's on the shelf.

When opportunity knocks...

 

Was at Whole Foods on San Vicente in Santa Monica yesterday and they had a good 12 on the shelf, picked up a couple and went back today to get more and they were sold out.

 

Went to the store and got a 4 pack of KBS, but they said they didn't have Parabola. They told me that they will be getting a few bottles next week. So, I guess I have to wait.

 

5 bottles thus far most going to the east coast pay it forward!!!!!

Anyone hear/see that this has released out in Chicago yet for this years 2016 batch?
