In the last 6 months only 2

17. - Fifty Fifty - Imperial Eclipse Vanilla Bean 2015

Also there are no best beers, only favorites.

 

In my case, I've had 3 this year that have made it into my all-time top 20:

-Bull and Bush Royal Oil (this one floored me)
-Melvin 2x4 DIPA
-Prairie BOMB!

 

2,849 beers reviewed (over 7 years) and only 1 beer in the last 6 months is in my top 100: Fremont First Nail imperial stout. Earlier in 2015 quite a few hit the top 100 for me, though. Nothing yet from 2016.

Haven't rated 1,000 beers yet, but I've certainly drank well over 1,000 and had one a couple months ago that definitely makes the top 20: Cuvee De Mortagne by Picobrouwerij Alvinne. It was a quad right at the sweet spot, and one of the greatest things I've ever tasted.

 

None in the top 20, but Evil Twin Double Barrel Jesus and Victory Java Cask are in my top 35

 

I've only rated 780 beers on here but these 2 stood out for me in the past 2 months-

I don't rate beers here (so forgive me for party crashing), but I think my post will still be relevant. I've had over 1000 different beers (only mentioning this since the OP asked), and I had a new-to-me beer about a month ago that I'd rank as one of my favorite beers so far - Gänstaller-Bräu Zoigl. I wish I could have this beer again.

 

I looked at my top 2% (to adjust for my slackardliness) and the latest addition was more than 18 months ago. ReDANKulous is in my latest top 20 but is just outside the 6 month mark.

 

5040 beers rated. None in the past 6 months have cracked my Top 20.

Just outside my 6 month range is 4 Hands Madagascar and Side Project Foedre Beer.

 

I just had Rye on Rye on Rye yesterday... very nice beer.

At over 2800 beers rated here none have cracked the top 20 in the last 6 months. Most recent entry to that list was focal banger in June of 2015. Although looking at the top beers a lot of them were rated 4-5 years ago and probably wouldn't sit as high up if re-rated or reviewed today.

I've had quite a few in the past 6 months that are in my Top 20, but I love beer, so the average beer rating starts at 3 just for being beer. Haha.

Baladin Lune- 4.7 (1/29/2016) A phenomenal English barleywine (Baladin makes many... see: Xyauyu) from 2012 that was aged a number of years in white wine barrels.

Casey Brewing The Cut: Balaton Cherry- 4.68 (11/08/2015) An undercarbed (according to the brewer....I was fine with it) version called a "Sleeper." Awesome.

Bosque Brewing Acequia Wet Hop IPA- 4.67 (9/19/2015...okay that's seven months) Awesome fresh hop IPA. No more to say.

Hill Farmstead Arthur- 4.62 (12/13/2015)

Trillium Double Dry Hopped Summer Street- 4.6 (9/09/2015)

Lagunitas Born Yesterday- 4.59 (10/30/2015)

2 other beers from the last 6 months are in my top 25 (Casey Leaner and Bosque Southwest Session) and a third top 25 beer was from just over a year ago (Montmorency v. Balaton).
