Tacos Por Favor is not bad. Camarones stand on Lincoln, north of Rose for shrimp tacos and ceviche

The West Side is not known for having the best Mexican but there are some options

Personally I think Taqueria Sanchez on Inglewood is pretty good for the area. I also think Pepe's Tacos on Centinela is solid enough. Nothing like you will find further east unfortunately.

 

Yep ... and banning JJ ... FW & BL seem to have a shit ton in common

 

I normally go with Pepe's (carne asada fries are delicious) or Abajeno. That whole area is pretty solid and is about as good as it gets for Mexican on the west side.

 

I get my Posole fix at Abajeno...

This is correct. Easily the 2 better options near by. But a slightly diff tune nearby is Rutt's Hawaiian. So Good.

Also Ekkami on Washington was really good Thai food with solid beer options.

 

Usually my go to since it's so close to me. Obviously going off topic here but recently I tried this place called BKK101 on Venice just off of Sepulveda. Freakin good and by most accounts very authentic.

fyi - the beer store to get bottles, swag, etc. is only open 10-6. I went last night around 9pm hoping to get some Parajava and I left with nothing... so sad. guess I will just have to go back

 

Right it was stated earlier in @tokimedo 's review the other day. That's a bummer though

 

FYI - since the traffic has been so heavy this week for Parabajava, they are starting to take peoples names and saying it's limit 1 per person per every few weeks. I tried to find out if it was 1 week or 2 weeks etc but apparently they have been noticing a lot of the same people coming in every day to get bottles.

also in regards to the beer store hours, I overheard someone last night saying that the permits they have allow them to only open till 6 for now, but they are working on extending those hours

Happened just now. They ask for your name and looks like they are putting it into a spreadsheet on a laptop.

 

It's very noble of them to try to do. But I can see that in the future of the company store, a lot of the more sought after BA and sours are going to go fast there. There's a reason why they need to limit how much gets put on the shelf aft Barrelworks. Having this so close to L.A. means a lot of folks will be taking advantage of that walk in cold box.
