BAs, it's a sad day. Below is an email response I received regarding my beloved Nelson. Sometimes my posts are tongue in cheek; this one is an exception. I can't fathom not having this beer in my life.

"Hello! Due to a shortage of Nelson hops, we are not bottling Nelson for the time being. It is available on draft in some markets. We hope to be able to bottle it again in the future! Cheers!"

And now, a brief moment of silence.

Do you have a beer you can't do without?

    That really sucks.

I may have to go on a walkabout or other spiritual journey to find myself again if the world runs out of Centennial.

My heart's going out to ya right now, Emcee. This is a brave new world we're stepping into, one without access to our lady Nelson.
    Hang tough, my brother.

Aw man - I forgot to answer the question. Let's go by season:
    Spring - Schofferhofer Grapefruit Wheat
    Summer - Shiner Ruby Redbird
    Fall - Heritage King's Mountain
    Winter - Corsendonk Christmas Ale

    As far as year-round...
If they somehow stopped brewing Geuze, I think I'd have to end myself, brother...

Nope. With so many fresh options out there these days, I can always find something to drink.

    Cheer up!

Instead of wallowing in sorrow maybe now is the time to pick yourself up by the boot straps and start homebrewing!!

Take control of your own destiny (or in the parlance of George McFly: density).

I toyed with the idea, albeit very briefly. I don't have the patience for it. I prefer to sit back and let the masters do their thing. I'm better at drinking it.

I couldn't live without belgians. If their yeast was ever in a shortage somehow, id feel like something inside was missing. Cheers to you. hang in there.

But your masters are leaving you in a hole here.

Entirely your choice in this matter.

An old saying I heard: Give a man a beer and you 'waste' a half hour, teach a man to homebrew and you 'waste' a lifetime.

Needless to say but I take exception to the verbiage of "waste".

    Cheers!

    Paraphrasing, but:
Give a man a fish & you've got a customer, teach a man to fish & you've ruined your market base.
Actually, now that I've typed it out, that's far more OT than I meant it to be. :stuck_out_tongue::grinning:

This is exactly why i started home brewing. I would try an awesome beer that was just what I wanted but it was either hard to get, seasonal or I had to trade for it. I started brewing to fill those holes and I couldn't be happier.

You also need to educate @TheIPAHunter about your ability to homebrew 'top shelf' "New England" style IPAs as well. No need to wait in lines!!

    Cheers!

See Jack, here's the thing about that. I had a homebrewed sour I dryhopped with Nelson, it made it to the finals and was chosen as a pro-am entry until they found out it was hopped with nelson. Because the hops weren't available I got the shaft. :grimacing:

This may be the saddest thing I have ever heard. Cheers to you @SFACRKnight, my deepest condolences.

EDIT: But at least you got to enjoy the fruits of your labor!

No, jokes on me, it was because of this beer I found out I am allergic to brett.
