Why I can't stop drinking Sierra Nevada?

I don't think the SN reps or distributors are too hot up in this area, unfortunately, from listening to all of the beer guys' complaints.

Oddly enough I didn't get into Sierra Nevada until later in my craft beer "journey".

While I enjoy SNPA and Celebration and all that, their stouts are what really hooked me. Also Bigfoot.

I've asked beer distributers directly and they tell me there is no interest for SN core beers like Porter, Stout and Kellerweis. I've asked the rep for this area @sierranevadabill put me in touch but still was told there is little interest in this area. Really a shame - I'd buy it all the time if I could find it. Not interested in Nooner and the new gose which seems to be everywhere.
Strangely enough recently I've seen places carrying more and more core beers from Brooklyn and Sam Adams (which I do like on occasion) but wish there was more of a push for SN.

I've never been disappointed by a Sierra Nevada beer. SNPA and Torpedo are just an all around go-to's when there's nothing else around that interests me. You definitely cannot beat the price point!

The 4 Way IPA 12 pack was great! That Five Hop IPA could easily replace Hop Hunter, imo!

Ironically, I work up this morning thinking how I should write them and ask/suggest that '5-Hop' and 'Coffee Stout' be year round... At the very least they deserve a seasonal 6. I think they would make amazing everyday brews!

Nope. That is kinda weird, isn't it? I wonder what the story is on that one.

I look for it every year because I love when its fresh and super bitter. I can never find it to ATLEAST mid-May here, often later. @sierranevadabill

That's very true. And the fact that SN gets left behind for such a dopey reason serves to prove just how full of shit hard core beer geeks can often be.
Haven't seen the 2016 in Central NJ yet either, but fortunately I've found a couple of stores with pretty decent stock of 2015 Bigfoot...and that's fine with me because as good as Bigfoot is when fresh, it's miles better after a year or two in the cellar.

I have only recently started to explore craft beers. Before that my beer experience was limited to the likes of Budweiser and other large production American Adjuncts. My first exposer to craft beer was Sam Adams which is still a fave of mine. My eyes were opened and I lamented over all the years of drinking flavorless libations. I recently tried SN Pale Ale and found it to be good though just a bit more bitter that I care for. I seem to gravitate toward the Witbiers and the Hefeweizzens and beers of that flavor profile. I just today picked up some SN Otra Vez and am looking forward to trying it.

Rediscovery.. I like it. I've been there. I've circled back to many breweries more affordable core offerings lately. Throw out hype, review scores, just sit back with family and drink up. I have quite a few more other regional breweries to round up and circle back onto.

I love Hop Hunter when its fresh. Can't seem to find it younger than 2 months old at this point. Same with SNPA and Torpedo, although I had torpedo on draft the other day and it actually had a taste of piney hops (some prior old tasting bottles of SN Torpedo leaves me less eager to consider them a true fridge mainstay). That took me back to a flavor (the piney hops) I initially did not like as a beer drinker. But grew fond of, left for a while, and now circle back to once in awhile. Luckily for me two local breweries offer cans affordably and have quite the lineup, so those are more core mainstays in my fridge.

I know this thread is about SN, but circling back to other forgotten IPAs/beers can be so refreshing. For me thats Hop Nosh, Modus Hoperandi, Lagunitas lineup of IPAs, Stone IPAs, NB Ranger, Odell, Deschutes, and the likes of Boston Lager/Shiner Bock.

There's a crazy world of core lineup six packs, a majority that get bought by the vast majority of people (not us). So here's you shelf beer. I love ya.

The affordability is a great aspect of SN that often gets overlooked. I look at new breweries trying to get their footing who can't really come close quality wise. Yet here they are selling $12 growlers and $5.50 pints of very pedestrian offerings (locally $9-10 is going growler rate, with $4-$5 pints). SN has not lost their footings through it all though. I commend them

Sierra Nevada makes a good solid beer at a fair price. Thats hard to beat. There is usually a few selections of their beer in my fridge.

Sierra Nevada as others have alluded to on here has proven that you can have both Quality and Quantity meaning it is possible to mass produce some excellent quality beers and make it available all over the country. I just wish that Russian River Brewing would take on this philosophy. Before I die I would like to be able to have a Pliney the Elder or Blind Pig IPA . Their distribution is so damned limited . I do like some SN beers but they are not a good deal near me. Closing in on $40 a case I pass every time. I did pick up Otra Vez in MD for $14.99 a 12 pack.

    Enjoy

+1 to everything said. SN is a damn fine beer for a good price.
Admittedly it's not going to crack the top-whatever lists anytime soon, but there's nothing wrong with it.
Even here in Massachusetts, where there are plenty of world-class breweries, it gets expensive to crack a Trillium, Tree House, or even a Night Shift or Jack's Abby every night. All-Day is $15 - $17 for a 15 pack, and is find for a daily drinker type of beer.
I still miss Tumbler as available in a 12-pack on its own, though.

Liberty Ale and Steam beer are just as good! Same with Pilsner Urquell, Czechvar and Jever. If I could have one beer only for the rest of my life, it would be one of these.

SN is a top notch-consistent brewery at an affordable price. You can never go wrong with them.
