Personally, I withhold judgement until I open a bottle in my possession, but I have to laugh at the instant denials and criticisms of those claiming their beer has turned. It reminds me of the early reports of BCBCS infection. Many of us were told we were just stupid and didn't know how the beer is supposed to taste, LOL. Remember the classic denial "the fruity flavors in BCBCS are from the type of coffee used"?

There have been more and more reports of prop going sour as well lately. No idea if its true because I have not gotten the opportunity to try one myself. But the trading forums are full of people trying to unload them at the moment so be careful about what you give up for one

If this is an elaborate ploy to try to get me to drink the 6 bottles I have left in one day, by god, it's going to work.

My cousin heard from a guy who knew someone.......

Listen, this is from a guy with self proclaimed clout who knows about chain yanking who heard from someone with a refined palette. This is some seriously substantiated info. Back off!!!!!

Provide your bottle DATE as well. Time stamp isn't good enough as this had multiple bottle dates

Are these "bad" bottles of the 14.3% variety or 13.7%?

I dont know how long it takes to bottle an entire brite, but two times close to each other were probably from the same source.

I looked earlier this morning and most of the descriptions specifically say that it is not infected.

Im in the same boat, and can back up Bartos. Im in the same group. I opened up a bottle from 10/21 @ 12:34, going sour, low/no carb. I purchased in Tampa and mine were bottled the same day as someone who cracked 7 bottles from the same bottling day. All drain poured.
Hopefully it's contained to that date, as it seems to be floating around Florida only.

I've opened 4 different bottles purchased around Austin at different times from Black Friday to last Friday, no "off" flavors in mine and all were excellent. Sorry to hear about the FL experiences.

Ah okay, I thought you meant purchased in Austin last Friday. I've got about 4 bottles left, and the 3 I've had we're all excellent.

Anyone know if the issue is specific to the bottles? If my keg starts turning i'll be reasonably upset

There's been a debate about that in the other thread created for the two beers on which refunds were offered. Still unclear but the sketchy evidence available suggests to me something like an unclean filler tube or something similar.

"sour" taste ill take them all. I have had a bad barleywine BC this year. It was not a souring Infection. Just horrible smell and a lot of off flavors.
